Yes your correct CHKN,

 

although Safari also uses the Webkit engine to render HTML but doesnt seem to have this problem that Chrome has with Image uploads,

 

Just for info too, the Webkit engine is actually a port of KHTML which was an old engine used in the Konqueror browser for Linux, if you know anything about browsers and browser user agent strings then theres quite an interesting (funny) read about how screwed up they are here :
