Gmaes are still not optimized for all 4 cores soin reality a dual core is just fine. We do need a great video card though the best you can afford. I7 isn't that the motarway 2 over from the I5 Awards

There are a few problems here. You linked a combo deal with the GD-70 and the PhII 965 BE, and while the deal may seem good you're getting the older C2 stepping. If you're going to get a PhII 965 BE, get the new C3 stepping revision. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727Also, you link some Viper II memory, which is DDR2. The GD-70 is a DDR3 only board. The GD-70 is also a CrossFire board (and if you're forking out the money for a 790FX you might as well go CrossFire) but the GTX275 obviously can't do CrossFire. I mean you could hack and patch your way around that, but that's more trouble than it's worth. Labob yea I love AMD The hype about all that speed and power is tres cool to say but we would probably never use it. Gmaes are still not optimized for all 4 cores soin reality a dual core is just fine. We do need a great video card though the best you can afford. I7 isn't that the motarway 2 over from the I5 Yeah the i7 is really only going to pull ahead of AMD when it comes to things like video compressing and heavy CPU tasks. For gaming it's just a waste of money. I've had a dual core, quad core, and now a triple, and I tell you.. the X3 720 is really the way to go. The price is fantastic, it overclocking is cake, and the third core really helps for gaming. Like you said, most games are just optimized for dual cores as they make up most of what consumers have, but the third core is really nice of handling background tasks while the other two cores work on the game.dollardogg ohh and a nice power supply Most people would probably reccomend Corsair, but those things are probably the most overrated product to ever make it to market. Corsair just rebrands Seasonic and slightly lowers the price. The units are solid, yes, but they aren't all they're cracked up to be. I found this ThermalTake 650W unit on newegg on sale for $89.99USD with free shipping. It's modular, which is a plus for someone whose not really that into building. It can also handle CrossFire later on if you want it to. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153040Good luck.
