turning off pc automatically

cant find or figure out how to stop my other pc from

off or shutting off when its un attended. running xp on it, and when you leave for awhile, it goes to the pick a user account screen.then you click on the account and it takes you back to where you were.it doesnt close browsers or programsd, but its very aggrevating. my other pc doesnt do it and we have 4 account s on it too..i looked in the power settings and clicked on never shut off.i clicked

um... right click on desktop...go to properties.... then go to screen saver...... then power settings.... change it to not go to logon screen on resume... and set ur screen saver time up.......

never shut down.... u also have to have it set to NEVER turn off hard discs.... and never turn off monitor :)

i would keep the monitor to shut off if ur like me who has a tv/monitor lol and 4get to turn it off and it gets hot "32in" lcd

Also go to screen saver options and then to power button...then to the hibernate tab and turn off Hibernation by unchecking the box.

Also go to the control panel/user accounts under Change the way users log on and off uncheck the use Welcome screen....that sould fix it!!

if these ideas are not working, check to see if your video card is running hot. Another thing you may have to look at is maybe your power supply is not running enough power to your PC. these are just some things to look for, when your system turns off and leaves you scratching your head if your PC just turns off on it's own.

Another reason for this maybe DEAD PEOPLE.

Once a few times a year we get some kind of virusses in, but I know you would take care of that.

(Do you see a "RPC" timing down? Start - Run : CMD and enter:  "shutdown /a" )

 

Do check if your memory is tight in (twss) and BIOS update check?

I had one time before that was doing that and I had a few.

try using a computer that doesn't do that and see if that helps :)
