Does anyone know if there is any way to recover a SSD with currupt firmware? I've been reading that the 0006 firmware is the cause of many bricked Crucial C300 SSD drives. They have put out Rev.0007 to fix the problem but I had no idea that I was suppossed to upgrade the Firmware. This SSD only had a 45 day Warrenty and it costed me quite a few clams and headaches. I turned the PC off and turned it on and the SSD was no longer posting in Bios.I've taken it out and tried it in the other PC but it's not showing up in the Bios. I've read that it MAY be possible to hook it up Via Sata to USB converter and update the firmware.I found a converter on Ebay for $5.95 shipped.Has anyone else had similar problems with an SSD drive? When this new stuff dies it sure doesn't fuck around. Edited December 9, 2012 by Pvt.Death Awards

Resolved performance anomaly which resulted in brief, intermittent pause in drive response time for some users. Note: This is firmware from Revision 0006 to Revision 0007. It will not work for updating between any other versions. If your drive has Revision 0001 firmware, then you MUST first perform the intermediate step of updating to Revision 0002. If your drive has Revision 0002 firmware, then you MUST first perform the intermediate step of updating to Revision 0006. other words update from your 0002 version on to .0007 in 2 steps .ooo6 then ooo7 the firmware fact sheet (.pdf) over there is ass backwards for the novice is left out in the cold of first opertion is BACK-UP the DATA before any firmware updates. what mode is the motherborad set to IDE or AHCI ? also firmware updates must be done in DOS not windows enviroment best thing to do is get a dos booting system in IDE mode to reconize SSD and run firmware update again since you have nothing to loose Awards

I've seen a couple ppl have luck with Hot HDD Disconect.Disconnect the power from the SSD while Bios scans for the Hdd.It should show up in Bios but won't be able to access it until it's in my Linux enviroment. I'm going to order the converter. It's worth the $5 just for piece of mind. Awards

Don’t even try to recover the data on the failed drive – just rebuild a new drive from the backup. TBC_Shaggy 1 Awards

The only Warrenty that they seem to care about Honoring is they're memory but the Quality just isn't there any more. Awards

I picked up a 240gig during Neweggs black friday sale for $222.95.It's alot faster than the Crucial SSD and with the Intel Control Panel program I can keep the drive optimized and upgrade firmware if need be.I'm really impressed with this SSD so far.
