This is a UK car so you should hopefully still be able to help.

One of my coil packs started to fail so I replaced it. Since then every now and then my car miss-fires on very low revs (around 1500-1600)  when I try to accelerate slightly, for example in a 30 zone. Since then I've had an engine warning light come on twice, both times it has said the same thing. Something to do with the cat and engine miss-fire. I haven't tried yet but I will be putting some cat cleaner into the fuel and give it a wash through.

Think it might be something to do with the coil pack?

it might be worth getting one of the cheap OBD readers from ebay it connects via bluetooth and some software on a smart phone(android or IOS) and allows you to read diagnostic codes and things....

Its far cheaper than taking it to a garage and will allow you to read and reset codes..

Might help with diagnosis

Ck the spark plug wires

They tend to carbon track down the boot on the inside and dowwn the side of the plug

If it has you will have to replace both wires and plugs

can be  stated above carbon tracking, replace  all  wires and spark plug connectors  is the  easy way

after done use a spray bottle with water and  spray mist while wires engine running in a dark spot  to see if any arcing

or  cam position sensor is next  on the list for your issue

Usually the coil fails because of high resistance in the circuit,bad/ worn out plug or wire... that causes the coil to heat up melting the primary and secondary winding insulation and cause it to fail. Class dismissed

Take them off (sparks) and check their condition - if they are black/ gray/ or oiled.

Changing cables is an option.
