I've got to laugh at some of your replies, it may not be against the rules to do it, but you lot seem to do an awful lot of bitching about us defrosting door blockers, i'm pretty sure defrosting people isn't against the rules either, yet I have been yelled at by people for defrosting them.

One rule for one and a different for another springs to mind!!

If you don't like us defrosting door blockers, then, as you so elequently put it, "suck it up or don't play the map"

Since I am the only one that said "suck it up" I will reply to you.

 

There is not one rule for one and different for another.

 

You can block and you can defrost the blocker if they are on your team.

 

Blocking carries it's risk an that risk is getting defrosted by a team mate.

 

If that happens and they moan at you then tell them to bitch all they want it's the aim of the game to defrost.

 

Never once did I say not to defrost blockers.

 

Why this is getting blown out of proportion is beyond me...

 

How many maps does this happen on out of the shit load of maps we have over multiple rotations?

 

I bet you struggle to name over two.

 

This is what I mean...why all this bullshit over a low occurance thing?

 

Sammy has now moved the Spawn point outside so now everyone can be happy!

I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

 

I played it 3 times in a few short hours and it was fully packed. I would say that the spawns have become a little unbalanced. The other side spawns in the other corner and the shack side team has an advantage now as they are spread out without getting blocked. Can we make the other team spread out too?

I can check it out to see if there is a better location but actually neither side is spread out because the mapper only did one spawn point per side. If there is a better location for the one that was moved maybe do a screenshot of the minimap and show me where.

I see, the mapper made spawn points in opposite corners of the map, one of them was inside the shack, which you changed to out in the open, thank you. It's working very well. However, the other team in the far corner still gets players stuck behind each other since its a corner. Perhaps move the spawn point to the middle back.

Yes that it what happens when you only do one spawn point and the game cant get around it. They are all trying to spawn in the same spot so its first come first served. Everyone else is moved enough to avoid that. Telefragging is the term. Same if you have a side with 16 players but only 8 spawns. Spawning in a corner or secluded area is common. Such as the lower alleyway in Crash. Its a matter of how quickly you can exit the area.

 

If the moved one can be placed in another area so both are secluded, but players can exit freely, players can show me ideas and I will see what I can do.

New outside spawn is much better. Although I would agree with boomboom. I can near enough make it to the enemy spawn now using an smg with lightweight while still in spawn protection.

Not sure how to fix it, If both spawns are spread out it'll almost be like a random spawn map

Give me a time index. I dont know which side is which. Also, what problem do you see? Is it that people spawn really close to each other? If so it did that in the building as well so this is nothing new.

No, sorry.

Because the shack side now spawns outside the front of the shack its pretty easy to run the shorter distance right into the enemy spawn using the right weapon/perk combination.

Perhaps if one side spawned in the graveyard, I'm not sure what direction that is without playing the map, and the other team spawned in the opposite corner it would even things out

I will check that location out this evening. Unfortunately that is what happens with small maps and IMHO the spawn-after-streak protection should only be 3 seconds max. Its only meant to deal with spawn killers that see you disappear and wait for you. But thats me. :rolleyes:

 

Looking at the vid one thing I have been thinking about is disable the ability for the predator and others to defrost since they were never intended to do that. They are supposed to be lethal weapons not support.

 

Instead make up a uav where you shoot several unguided missiles. But the missiles dont explode on impact so they dont kill enemies. They are heat sources that defrost. Or I could probably do it as an AI weapon. It would sort of act as an air support version of the sentry defroster. But it would decide on its own who to shoot the missile at. So you lose the ability for predator to defrost but you get a much better tactical weapon in return.

Don't ruin a good thing! We love the ability to defrost with predators and AGMs, lethal and support why not both. Also, the spawn protection is fine the way it is, really its fine, no really, its fine.

 

Also, the video shows me spawning in the same spawn that we are talking about. The 'other' side from the shack, see how its in a corner?

As for the defrost ability. Would you prefer the way it is or a 30 second UAV with up to 10 missiles that will defrost more friendlies than you ever could otherwise? I guess it depends on whether or not you are one of the frozen. :rolleyes:

 

Defroster UAV would be a passive weapon. Don't get me wrong its a great idea if its added instead of being a replacement. If it doesn't kill or doesn't give spawn protection it will have less appeal for the not-so-altruistic players.

True but if someone is really interested in kills then why bother defrosting? Oh... and keep in mind that you will now be able to save your three streaks. So you can hold onto it until you really need it. Imagine if you have two of them and you were the last player. I would think it would have great appeal. :lol:

I'm all about the defrosts. I usually try to keep my defrosts above my deaths in order to feel I'm contributing to the team play
