ok upgrading kids computor /xp 2 core intell/had ati x1950 pro gpu/removed all drivers .installed new r7265 ati card and it will boot and show infor but when windows welcome screen and music come on -it will show no video.if I put in old card it will show screen with no drivers installed like it should so i know screen still good.so I then took new card and installed in my own computor and it works fine so I know new card is ok and sceen is ok.so resolution issue new card to old screen???how do i resolve this -reinstall old card change resolution .then uninstall and reinstall new card to see if shows welcome screen??what do you think

so new card and also my personal newer card-neither will show video as welcome music and screen come-up-.screen is powered up but no video-plug in older card and works/all cards work on my setup

btw cant access safe mode/cant boot to vga 16 bit -wont happen

Just guessing but try the kids computer with the new vid card with your monitor. If that runs its a resolution issue and you have to find the native screen resolution for the kids monitor. Set that resolution on the card with your monitor hooked up then swap out the monitors.

If you have on board video you can boot with it then install drivers for new card/power down /install card and reboot...... just a thought

I don't remember is XP will detect monitors...how many outputs does the new card have? Have you tried all outputs?
