oh I am sorry but I think it is a timming setting in his bois for his ram. that cpu and MB if you are using all 4 slots for ram if it is 1866 Mhz it will drop to 1600 Mhz with lower timming settings, try only 2 slots (1-3)

Now that you mention that, I had to the same thing when I setup my last upgrade.

After doing a lot of digging I found that this chip is unstable. Soooo many people are having trouble getting it stable. So I'm trying to contact newegg to return it and pick up and fx 8350 and just over clock it to 5ghz.

If you are getting the boot device choice menu, then F8 is working properly..

Now after you get that menu, select your boot drive and as soon as you do, start tapping F8 again...  the Safe Mode option screen should come up..

first guess is that its an overheat problem. i would double check the thermal paste. your saying the screen freezes? no mouse or anything?

yep sounds like heat..

make sure the heat sink has the heat sink compound and the fan is installed correctly. Needs the past to transfer the heat to the heat sink. If that is good check your memory. Pull one tick out at time and test each stick.

Problem was solved. I returned that cpu (known for being unstable) and got an fx 8370. My pc is now running perfectly!!!

Thanks everyone for your tips!
