im having pc problems again,it started about aweek ago,i think i may have deleated somthing that i shouldent have but cant be sure,someone took my pc away to fix it and after getting it back 2 days and £50 later somethings work and other things dont basicly im none the wiser and no better off and 50 bucks out o pocket,codwaw had to be uninstalled and wont reinstall and the same with cod4 but luckely i was able to reinstall cod4 so sorry cod4 guys looks like you having to put up with me just for alittle wile,im going to have my pc taken back to facktory settings for awile and then at a later date send it to mikey1799 to be recycled,

for the 2 days my pc was away i tryed waching tv but got so restless i started climbing the walls i diddent relise how much ide miss playing cod5 and my fellow gamers ,ive only got my self to blame,this is wot happens wen you are computer aliterrut alitricher allitarut you no wot i meen,damn im an idiot.

Format it and start over....dont forget to save your files first. I have found that a factory restore works sometimes and then sometimes not. Good luck:-)

i dont no wot caused the problem in the first place,althoe i think it was because i deleated somthing i shouldent have that caused the problem wot if it wasent and somthing els caused it would saving my files just make it happen again when i put the saved files back on?

 

if i give you a run down of wot happend it may help,

i had dizzler but every time i tryed to start it it come up as error so i decided to uninstall from control panel and wile i was there afew other things i diddent wont or use,i got the msg saying my pc wanted to restart ect ect ect but nothing happend and i diddent think nothing of it till wot i remember was it sort o cut out for a second or so,i just carred on like nothing had happened untill i relised my entire history had gone,the pictures on my icons on my desktop had gone back to white boxes,my icons diddent work i got msg saying things like the language wasent right or the program for wich this icon somthing somthing somthing,wen i tryed my game i got error msg saying somthing about making sure the right file and the right path or somthing like that,there was so manythings rong it was to much to take in,even now theres things i uninstall like my cod5 ive uninstalled it but when i put the disc back in althoe its uninstalled on my pc the disc opptions is telling me uninstall play single player or options,also my voice chatt has gone from ventrillo and exfire but not from cod4,i have nero,bearshare,logitech mouse,powerdvd all saying they not installed and i need to reinstall them,allso i had paid for avg and that totaly diserpeard so wen i tryed to start it from the icon nothing atole happen,i got the free won on now,there are other things i cant think of at the mo like i siad so much went rong in the space of like 5 minuts it was to much to take in,i tryed taking it back to a restore point but things where missing i cant remember wot  at the mo,so my problem is was it me deleating things or was it somthing els and if thats the case will me saveing files cause me more problems or woulde the best bet be wipe it all clean and start afresh with the factory settings?would my pc have factory settings if it was put to gether in a computer shop and not a factory?

anyone got a club hammer.

Putting your saved files back in shouldn't cause a problem with the operating system unless they are infected with a virus.

no it should not.. All you should have to save is letters, pictures, Email and addresses, ect.  Then after reinstall of everything plus anti virus sofware just scan your saved file before placing them back in. If your running a differant OS just google   "how to do a repair install  vista" without the quotes of course and just change the word vista to whatever OS you are running. or go to this link which shows most of them as I just did a search for windows repair install

thanx guys,thanx wizid but its to comlicated for me,damn i just deleated somthing and look wots happend,i payed somone to fix it and they havent done it so im going to get my moneys werth and get them to do it,im hoping they can do that ok,ile show the the info you given me wizid and see wot happens and ile fill you in when its done,with the skechy info ive given can you maybe get an idear of wot i did for this all to happen wizid?

wizid your a genius,when you siad follow this link(windows+repair+install)i thort no no no to complicated for me and so i said i would let someone els take my pc back to facktory settings and start afresh,then i started thinking well it wont hurt just to have a look and if it is complicated then i can leave it like i was going to,so i googled windows+repair+install and got lots of options but i chose how to reistall or repair internet explorer in windows vista and windows xp,the result was help and support and somthing called fix it troubleshooter,it scaned loads of things wich took a matter of seconds risulting in 3 things needing fixing so i chose the option to fix them and in seconds they where done,well at this point i dident think they where anything that importent and when i tryed clicking my icon in desctop acrobat it siad there was an errer installing well as i said be for it was already installed so why should ther be a problem with the instalation,any way so i thourt nothing had changed till i tryed cod5 anyways just to try it,shore anuff the disc siad uninstall and like i siad be for it was already uninstalled but i pressed uninstall just in case and it did it it did wot ever it did woop woop and now i got cod5waw again,ok im not counting my chickens just yet as i got to load the paches yet,so here goes ile let you no if its worked.

ok update,im very confused,cod waw was there i did all my settings and siad in my last post it had been sorted i just had to load my paches,well i started loading paches 1.1 then 1.1 1.2 they went fine but when i got to 1.1 1.3 i got a msg a valid call of duty waw instalation could not be found at that path specified please specify the path where call of duty waw is installed, wtf is that all about so i looked in windows games where cod5 waw was and its gone,so i looked in activision and its not there its vanished,am i going crackers or wot one minute my games there the next its not wots going on any no?ive inserted codwaw disc and it gives me options to play single player maty player uninstall but wen i click on any of them nothing happens i dont no wot els to do?

1: get rid of AVG, Norton,Macaffee,or any other shitty antivirus ya got for free. If you want free and you have a legit copy of windows this is the only AV you want and or need. I can not say that enough. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

 

2: get rid of bearshare my god ya want problems there it is an open door right into your system. Get Bit torrent http://www.bittorrent.com/ There are alot of peeps in here who know how to use it and not thats its much safer but more often then not its tested and the forums will tell you if its a bad download. You will live longer eusing torrents instead of bearshare yeck.

 

3: here's a link to all the patches for WAW http://www.filefront.com/listing/pub2/Call-Of-Duty-World-At-War/Official-Patches I suggest you keep then and back them up so ther always handy for reinstalling. Here's the ones you need

Be careful to read what you download I think some people are downloading the german languge one or the dutch one. Now use the control panel to remove the game. After that open up windows explorer go to  local disk/program files/ activision/ look for the call of duty world at war folder right click on it and delete it. Now your ready to reinstall the game.

Your choice of Internet Security program was a good one as anyone who reads Virus Bulletin would recognise.  However, torrents are a recipe for disaster in more ways than one (mainly the legal consequences these days in the UK!) and Chile's advice, expressed in his typically subtle fashion(!), is sound too about watching where one clicks...  Hope to see you back in the CoD5 servers really soon, mate.

I have to agree with Labob on most of what he said except the antivirus thing. The one he said is good but that is NOT the only good one. I have used the free Avast antivirus for 3 or 4 years with no virus or other problems and AVG is rated right up there with it.

The reason I chose MS antivirus is because it is written by the people who want to get rid of the viruses not by people who make money off of viruses. Remember all anti virus companys make money off the virus so an honest statement would be they like viruses and do not want them to go away.If they went away they would not have a job that is there buseness plan. Virus Bulletin the magazine is owned by a anti virus software company sophos. I would have a hard time thinking they have an independant view on whats the best. (I have no proof of that though) Anyway what you use is a personal choice and the varity out there forces them to come out with better products then just having one choice. What matters inthe end is you play the game so I can kill you

woop woop im back,i had my pc wiped clean taken back to facktory settings i think you call it reformatting,every thing seems to be ok,ive loaded all the patches and the game as far as i no works fine,thank you to every one for the exserlent advice and serlutions im ashamed to say its all wasted on me as im computer alitaret,i think i took the best atction and had it wiped clean and start afresh,i think you can tell i was having quite alot of pc truble and other peaple would probly give you sound advive but the advice i give you is stay away from porn,dont give any names to chilli if you wont to see them again or atleast dont tell him your real name,and last not least can we have more female xi boobies please,wildthing need not apply,
