amd says that they havent tested alot of memory for this board. I guess I am just confused by the o.c. by those 2  I guess I will find out when the mem gets here, I have the 1333 in a cart on standby for overnight delivery if it doesnt work, but would go ahead and order it if I knew for sure

Dark Asylumn - Memory Question

I just got a new mb and memory and my mb say it is designed for ddr3 1800(o.c)/1600(o.c.)1333/1066/800

I have 1600 memory  I know what the O.C stands for but what does it mean for me can I run 1600 memory

It just means that if you can set in BIOS the mem on 900Mhz (double as always 1800) and 800Mhz as you have. meaning that you can overclock to press to 900Mhz, but only memory overclocking if you give the mem a bit more voltage.

I have posted this in other thread but you can see how to push the memory. For example my motherboard can handle 1200 (600Mhz speed), but my Patriots are running at 1066Mhz (533 times two).

You have to see it at Double Rate as the name of DDR.

So for example a Mem stick will show in CPU-Z half of the ammount but it is double.

It is not a one way street for DDR's ;)

Check your mother brand site and look for the QVL list to prevent issues.

Nah, I dont know what the return policy is of the websites over there, but here you are free to buy, test and send it back "Not satisfied" and money return or pick other items.

I know that those Patriots what I am using is NOT on the QVL list of my motherboard, but the chips are used by other brands which match the criteria again. that link above and patriot looks great buddy and not that expensive at all.
