My Father’s parents came from Lebanon around 1904 as I’ve mentioned before. One of the great recipes is LAHEM MISHWEE. I believe LAHEM is lamb but we now use beef as lamb was very hard to get when I was young. I made a big feed for my parents. I used sirloin tip steak. It was very delicious.

Thanks for the clarification Dad still speaks Arabic a bit as he never learned English until he started school. We have a lot of Syrian refugees here now and sometimes he will speak to the kids, stops them in there tracks lol. He only taught us a few words. When he spoke to the older people in the community sometimes they spoke Arabic when they didn't want us to know what they were saying lol.

We used to have a wood stove until I was about 8 and dad always had me cooking the meat over the fire. We finally got a charcoal BBQ when I was about 14.
