had to redo cod 4

guys had to redo my rig. I have it on disk, also Steam but my version on both is not what I need. so can anyone point to to all the patches that we need please? also if anyone got a view cd version or steam ??

join the  cod4  club you will see  what  version XI is running i know is not same as steam and version has to be same to play multiplayer.

other back up you game profile  C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty - modern warfare(cod4) \profiles note for cd version for  steam need to look in their folders

note: when install game/patches run as admin for each update also by right-click mouse and select run as admin for each     .EXE

cant do that as had to reinstall all like a brand new pc, hence having problems . so can't back up anything. All is fresh o the pain of it all. Thanks for the fast reply. I am a member you know already cod 4 Well I think that and 5 wow

this patch should update you to version 1.7 

 

I would also recomend COD4X which enhances the game https://cod4x.ovh/t/cod4x-releases/24

Download the client and copy/paste it to where you have the game installed (within the COD4 folder ) and then extract it

i really have no idea what is going on, Steam 1.8.13620 cod4x 21.2 i have both steam and cd I will be going of beechy head at this rate, what do we run our server cod 4 1.7 or 1.6

reason that error is 32bit game on 64bit OS  need to run compatibility mode for win 7

@Senzei  Install the game on steam, enter multiplayer, open console by pressing the (~) key (if console doesn't show up you can enable it in the settings), and then paste this: /connect 164.132.119.139:27979

It's a cod4x downgrade server which downgrades your game from 1.8 to 1.7 and installs cod4x.

he means the tilde key (shift + number 1 ) will get you in console

If you update the steam version and then connect as @PickleRick describes, that should work. 

You will need to turn off "keep this game updated" in steam

Yes i do live in good old UK, must say I am impressed with so much help its been a pain redoing all. Not much fun for a 99 year old poor sensei. BEING 99 IS the only reason sens cant run like you young guns
