Display Cable Bandwidth Check?
KaptCrunch reacted to srt4fun for a topic
1440p @180Hz uses 70% of available bandwidth for DP 1.4 (HDR increases to 86%). By going with HDMI you are losing out on 36Hz of refresh rate for no reason. What you read on the specs (for that monitor) is just HDMI marketing BS. Besides TMDS (which helps with long cable runs), there is really no tangible benefit over DP. They added/updated features in HDMI 2.1 that DP already supported for quite a while, lol (think in the realm of apple v android). Yes, more bandwidth...but when you have a 1440p monitor maxed to 144Hz, there is literally 3 times as much bandwidth available as you really need.... Then the question is, why the heck doesn't it support 180Hz over HDMI if there is all that bandwidth? The answer? HDMI sucks, lol!1 point -
Display Cable Bandwidth Check?
KaptCrunch reacted to BUDMAN for a topic
What is better for PC gaming, DisplayPort or HDMI? Significant differences include that a Displayport generally supports higher resolutions and refresh rates, making it ideal for gaming, graphic design, and multimedia production. Displayport also supports daisy-chaining, where multiple monitors can be connected in a chain, using a single Displayport output.1 point -

So, yesterday was a magical amazing day!! One of my favorite bands, The Lazys, did a kickstarter back in December. Many things you could buy to help 2 of the members get to Canada from Australia and help with cost of recording an album. One of the things you could buy was a BBQ and private acoustic show with the band! My good buddy and I went splits on the BBQ. Yesterday was the day, the band showed up, a bunch of friends showed up, we were out on my buddys farm and we had a fucking blast!! There were 5 BBQ/Concerts given, the band all said ours was by far the best and the most fun!!! We had dirtbikes and quads out there, pigs and peacocks, cooler corn and a BBQ and a kick ass little acoustic show with the lead singer and the lead guitarist. Was such a good day and night and I am still smiling ear to ear!!! 20250801_195737.mp4 VID_20250802_091131_561.mp4 20250801_202936.mp41 point
