Well Mrs. Smeggie and I are taking a trip that nobody wants to take. Headed to Eastern Texas to settle my father (who will be 95 in 3 weeks) and step-mother into a nursing home. Dad is basically blind and my step mother has dementia. Neither of them can care for one another anymore, and they decided it's time..... Probably will be the last time I get to see my dad, unfortunately. I am sure I will need some in game banter from @ShadyBrady, @Tiger! and @Qualicum when I get back....so be prepared! Hello folks. I wanted to give a little update on why I have been away recently. As many of you know and some of you may not, I broke my neck in 2007 and have suffered with chronic pain since then. Imagine a combination of toothache and severe cramp from back of skull down to shoulder. The only pain medication that worked made me almost a zombie, so I stopped taking it in favour of being able to function. My neck has deteriorated and pain worsened over the last year or so and I therefore had an X-Ray. The results have shown: Degenerative changes C4/C5 with disc height reduction. Bone spurs C4/C5, C5/C6, and C6/C7. I have gone back on the zombie medication, but at a lower dose, and after almost 20 years of pain, it is like someone has flicked a switch. I still feel a bit trippy at times and my train of thought gets derailed occasionally, but at least I have an excuse for that now! Should be back to playing more regularly after a weekend away. Love you guys and gals.

Last month i opent a new webshop called rcplaneet.nl it's like a webshop in remote control toys ( no not that kind of toys! ) Today i had a first restock because sales are slowly growing already within a month, super crazy, Social media can be such a big influence too. Anyways, i tought it would be fun to share this small milestone and add some restock pictures.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who stopped by the server and tested it with the bots. You have directly helped us gain confidence that the server is ready for re-launch. Some of you may recall, I made a post about two tracks, 1 creating a brand new mod and 1 running the current mod on Cod4x server for all its advantages. This is the 2nd track. The stability issues were unforeseen but we reacted as quickly as circumstances would allow and stayed committed to bring this to you. Over the course of the last couple of weeks, we have bombarded the mod with heavy load, both people and custom created AI bots. After the last fix I made, the sever and the mod stayed stable consistently. Now I have noticed, very rarely Steam authorization will fail. When this happens the server will disconnect you, and you only. It doesn't mean it crashed, it simply tells you that it disconnected. It happened to me today when I left myself in spec for 9 hours. The server was up for roughly 3 days and hosted plenty of games with the bots, including the surprise traffic on Wednesday. Rugger will send out a message for the clan. The bots have been removed, and the server has been given a fresh restart. Have a great Sunday.

Thank you all. I love my XI family! Today was a tough day, but tomorrow will be the toughest. We got a lot of things out of the house and donated. Tomorrow they move into the nursing home and the rest of the house gets cleared out and whether donated or hauled to the dump. So many memories....remember to cherish the time you spend with family. You will never get that time back. Love to all...

I am BACK Bitches! @ShadyBrady I expect a little something special from you! Seriously, one of the hardest thing I have ever had to do. The hardest thing I have ever had to do was to say goodbye to my twin boys that died at birth in 1990. And this was damn close to that... Walking away from the man that made me who I am...the one I idolized, my role model and the person I tried to emulate my entire life just plain sucked. Leaving him in that nursing home and hoping total strangers will care for him just ripped my heart out. It goes against every bone in my body. I am seriously heartbroken. I hope that I get to see him again....but only time will tell.

That's why this clan keeps great classic games rolling. A lot of young pups have no idea what a lan party is. Yea it sucks when there is a game company controlled cloud servers and they say its not producing revenue anymore we will just pull them down. Also nothing like playing a great shooter on a lan with ping in the single milliseconds. Old has nothing to do with it you just know how great games can be. played 7 maps 1st one a small ci and frame skipping, but when the new map loaded it was all good from that point, no crashes so far. had loads of fun, this mod is still the best and so much more stabl, thanks for anyone puting afford in this to get it up and running, your work is not going unnoticed!

Smart Bots v2 deployed Placeholder bots set at 16 max Auto defrost disabled Use Quick Message (On me/Regroup) to call the bots to your location They will chase you with a RCXD They will use UAV defrosters They will use Predator missiles, AC130, AGM, Helis etc Bots will taunt you and occasionally t-bag your body This is a stripped down version of the smart bots. People, it's a 20 year old game. It doesn't have modern features, it is not running a full fledge LLM. There's a limited 4MB memory and I can only use few 10s of KBs to make the bots smart but also leave enough room for all your shenanigans. The bots do defrost you, if you are close to them. They will not come all the way to the enemy spawn just to die for you. They play conservatively. If a bot is the last one alive, it will hide and try to get a car and defrost the closes frozen player. Please note bots are intended to be temporary and not a permanent addition, unless you folks want them. These are there for you to stop by and shoot some shit when you want to kill time. I made some network config updates too. If you were a bit laggy you should see improvements.

I prefer a La trappe blond if i drink, or heineken but La trappe is for sure favorite.

This is related to the network connection settings on the server and your client. When we relaunched the server I set the server to allow connections up to 100Kbps, which with today's internet speeds is like sending a spit worth's of water down a 10inch pipe. This makes the game ultra smooth for people with fast computers, powerful routers and ideal ping. Not so much for people who have higher latency, WiFi connections or other limiting factors. It seems like the ideal setting to accommodate such a wide range of players is 25Kbps. There's more technical detail but I don't think most people care enough to know. Shady, you started experiencing this frame skipping after I changed the setting to the lower value while there were few people on the server. It gave me the confirmation I needed, sorry about that though. Please do the following in your game. - Press ~ then type /rate 25000 - Hit Enter - Press ~ to close the console I will apply the appropriate settings on the server and this SHOULD address the occasional lag spikes, CI's or frame skipping.

Hmm... we may have to re-tune the running speed. Thanks for noting your observations. I will make a list of things that need an investigation.

Good stuff, looks like a lot of fun! Will be cool to see you continuing to progress. Did you have time between deadlift attempts or was it one after the other? I didn't do strongman (would have loved to have tried some of the lifts though), although I followed wsm etc over the years. I was into powerlifting for a long time but I'm light and weak at the moment lol.

Quick update: We created AI bots to stress the server in every which way. It has worked very well and the server was able to handle just about any kind of load we threw at it for days on end. Right now I have put on brand new "smart" bots. These learn from human players, and as the rounds go they become "smarter", more aggressive. They use killstreaks, drive RCXDs, use the predator, AGM, AC130. They save these learnings to memory and every time they play the same map they get better. The bots do disconnect when a real person joins. The mod on this server has been optimized to handle 34 concurrent players. Once we have a better understanding of what our community likes we will either reduce the number of place holder bots or completely remove them. That one is up to you guys. Right now we have set this up as a redirect server for overflow from the regular COD4 server. We do get random new players on the server every day.
