  1. Gorilla>XI< If it wasn't for us Yanks you'd be speaking German now. Your Welcome So we are reminded quite frequently, but thank you for jogging this forgetful Brit's memory once again. The more likely outcome, I suggest, is that a great many of us wouldn't be here at all, especially those of us whose parents were in uniform when it all happened. (Some of us speak German voluntarily, if badly! )

    Hi all

Pleased to see you visiting, TDS! So, you live at St Andrews? I guess they make you take the tent down when they want to play? Enjoy the games and the company and unwind. Very glad that a member of our esteemed Armed Forces wants to play with the Idiots (better than taking orders from them, maybe?? ). As Markoff suggests, do please come and see us in CoD5 also. Yes, you're actually quite a youngster as well as a professional so I think it is we who ought to keep our heads down!
  3. Congratulations to you and the good lady and welcome to "Junior"!
  4. Sonovabich According to Hollywood Britain did'nt take part in ww2 did we? It's conveniently overlooked that, when France fell, Britain stood alone against the Axis. (Indeed, one wonders what could have happened had Nazi Germany not declared war on the USA following the Japanese Pearl Harbour attack. There's said to be a movie in the works based on a Philip K Dick alternative history.)
  5. I've been made aware of a magazine called Britain At War. Its website contains some articles about World War 2 that you may find interesting. You'll find the content at http://www.britain-at-war-magazine.com/baw-online/
  6. Obviously ph4nt0m hasn't told you about the maintenance script that cleans up all forum messages consisting only of numbers...
  7. Pleased to see you around, Angelsss! I know about the mic problem. I was chewed up for "laughing too loud", the other night! It really pisses some women off when men are happy... Keep visiting the servers!
  8. baldiemeat I was just thinking that my self. I have only been an Idiot for a year and boy has there been some drama over the last few months... People need to go back to being IDIOTS AND HAVE A BLOODY LAUGH. I remember the first day I joined Boilerdon and Tiger were on top form and I could not play for bloody laughing so hard. Now thats the IDIOTS WE SHOULD ALL AIM TO BE AND FUCK THE DRAMA Just my two cents. Amen to that, brother!
  9. Fun little movie but I have never got (and still don't) the fascination with Halloween. Fortunately, it isn't a universally big thing over here and many of us look on it as an unwelcome import from overseas. 5 November - Guy Fawkes Night - is more relevant to Brits even though that involves exploding lots of cash over ones head in the form of fireworks!
  10. Do the ISPs implement interleaving over there? Here we have the option to have that switched off as doing that reduces the latency at the risk of errors. (Personally, I haven't had this done.) See http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/interleaving.htm
  11. The good news is that, with a little help from a Microsoft professional, I have found the option to insert a background graphic image in an HTML email (via Page Color). I think I have found a bug in the program though as I have been composing email in Tahoma font 12pt and it has been arriving as 120pt! My friend thinks I am shouting at him! A further apparent registry error identical to one that afflicted Outlook Express some years ago prevents linked images being displayed in emails (typically newsletters - one has to click a link to view them in the web browser instead). I have bought Outlook 2010 For Dummies as there is a lot hidden away in this program. I looked at Thunderbird - it has its fans but it has no official support at all and I couldn't find any documentation for it either. Oh well, this is another learning experience...
  12. Lovely photos but refer to http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/albinomoose.asp for their analysis of what is pictured and where.
  13. So, the little one had arrived! (I couldn't get much sense out of you in game but then again we never do... ). The warmest of congratulations to you and the Mrs and a warm welcome to little Leonardo or "UnChilenoJr"! The photos take me back to 1992 when my little boy arrived - he starts work tomorrow!
  14. BHzD_WHY Sorry can't help you with outlook 2010, I haven't installed my Office 2010 yet. If you want prettier Emails and lots more check out Incredimail, My wife can't life without it. http://www.incredimail.com/english/splash.aspx Incredimail's a real pain for the receiver, believe me, due to the way it mixes text and graphics. It doesn't make for easy replies and conversations.
  15. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, 32 bit and have MS Office Home & Student 2007 installed. Having downloaded the Live Essentials update, the other day, I was dismayed by what it did to Windows Live Mail - already a poor relation to its predecessors in my opinion. It removed any ability to use background or tiled graphics in HTML messages or stationery of any kind. Being a decorative sort of guy, I looked for a replacement, discounting The Bat (no HTML email support) and Thunderbird (no support) along the way. I did read that MS Outlook had the facility to use stationery so I went ahead and bought Outlook 2010. Oops... Right, now whilst installing the blasted program was far from straightforward (I ended up doing it twice!) and it lacks the ability to import ones contact database in one hit (great fun doing it one contact at a time via VCF files...not!) or IAF files (luckily I could source the details for all my various email accounts and type them in laboriously), it does function as basic email program. BUT... I can't format any outgoing email as an HTML message with graphics or stationery - Themes is muted/greyed out and, from what I have read about earlier versions, I am buggered! Because I have bought the standalone version and not the whole Office suite, I gather Themes will remain inaccessible to me. So, this message has two purposes: i) if you are looking for a replacement for Windows Live Mail, DO NOT buy the standalone version of Outlook or you will be ripped off like me; ii) does anyone know of a work-around for this? Next time I have a "good" idea like this, I'll go out and spend £90 on food and beer - at least I won't feel so violated afterwards!!! F***in' Microsoft!
  16. I have it and completed it well within a single day's play (and feel somewhat ripped off as a result!). I have not yet tried MP but concur with kilted entirely. Black Ops should be much better.
  17. RAMBOS SON - High ping on servers Hi Just i comment on the ping, i used have ping of around 160-175 on most servers and now it seems to be over 200 now ,i have not added or done anything to my Pc so am at a loss to whats going on .Anyone easy having high ping?? One other thing where are the servers based so i can do a ping test?? If you're using BT broadband or a flavour of it resold by someone else, there is a possibility that you're seeing the effects of recent work and repair they have been doing on the network. Locally, I usually see a Grade A line with ping down to around 39ms. It shot up briefly to around 125-130ms! Strangely, in game, there was only a slight worsening to 160ms. Everything settled down in about 24 hours and appears normal now. If your problem continues, I suggest you do a traceroute to establish where the hold-up is occurring.
  18. Another excuse to put the Harry J All Stars up again!
  19. She was standing in the kitchen, preparing our usual soft-boiled eggs and toast for breakfast, wearing only the 'T' shirt that she normally slept in. As I walked in, almost awake, she turned to me and said softly," You've got to make love to me this very moment!" My eyes lit up and I thought, "I am either still dreaming or this is going to be my lucky day!" Not wanting to lose the moment, I embraced her and then gave it my all; right there on the kitchen table. Afterwards she said, "Thanks," and returned to the stove, her T-shirt still around her neck. Happy, but a little puzzled, I asked, "What was that all about?" She explained, "The egg timer's broken."
  20. Sonovabich oh crap Deejaykeg you must have been posting that the same time as me...doh! Hehe! I don't mind a double portion - I'm a fat bastard, remember!
  21. Maybe this should be my theme tune! For those who haven't seen Bad Manners before, the vocalist is called Buster Bloodvessel!
  22. Have a look at the Belkin range - I have one here and it is supposed to be good for 20-30 minutes. It also cleans up the power supply to ones kit so spikes don't do any harm.
  23. All the time it's unclaimed the good causes benefit and then, after six months, the whole prize is donated to charity. By then this country will be in need of a bit of charity!!!
