  1. Happy Birthday, Duck!
  2. E3 Trailer
  3. Congratulations on her achievement and your obviously successful parenting. I don't pretend to understand the US education system - it is so different to ours. Here someone leaves school at 18, goes to university for at least three years, and "graduates" with a degree. I'm guessing the graduation in this case was from "college"?
  4. An old man walks into the barber shop for a shave and haircut, but he tells the barber he probably can't get all of his whiskers off because his cheeks are wrinkled from age. The barber gets a little wooden ball from a cup on the shelf and tells him to put it inside his cheek to spread out the skin. When he's finished, the old man tells the barber that was the cleanest shave he's had in years. But he wanted to know what would have happened If he had swallowed that little ball. The barber replied, "Just bring it back in a couple of days like everyone else does.."
  5. Have a look at this explanation - it would be top of my list. What else is running on the machine? http://www.bricode.com/game-or-application-keeps-minimizing-or-losing-focus-in-windows-7/
  6. Let's see if they bother beta-testing it before release...
  7. The room was full of pregnant women with their husbands. The instructor said, "Ladies, remember that exercise is good for you. Walking is especially beneficial. It strengthens the pelvic muscles and will make delivery that much easier. Just pace yourself, make plenty of stops and try to stay on a soft surface like grass or a path." "Gentlemen, remember -- you're in this together, it wouldn't hurt you to go walking with her. In fact, that shared experience would be good for you both." The room suddenly became very quiet as the men absorbed this information. After a few moments a man, name unknown, at the back of the room, slowly raised his hand. "Yes?" said the instructor. "I was just wondering if it would be all right if she carries a golf bag while we walk?"
  8. I learned, today, of the passing of an old friend, afflicted with Alzheimer's, at the age of 66. Now I have wiped away my tears, I dedicate this to him...
  9. Be safe, Pete! The sentence that caught my eye in the BBC news report on the flooding was: "Officials said lions and tigers from the Calgary Zoo may need to be transferred to prisoner holding cells." Now, that is what I call crime prevention!
  10. Congratulations on your patience with one another. It is 27 years for me and Mrs Keg today so I expect I shall have a few beers later to drown my sorrows!
  11. When the entities with which one exchanges documents use Microsoft applications, one tends to do likewise. I am a great fan of PDF, personally.
  12. The hospital sent me a letter to remind me of an appointment with a consultant, back in April. This was unusual as they usually use paperless means like text messages. I saw the name of the doctor had changed so researched why to discover that, about two weeks after I had last visited the hospital, my 37 year-old, physically fit, martial arts expert dermatologist had just stopped living. The coroner recorded a verdict that the poor fellow had succumbed to sudden adult death syndrome. As my former parish priest would remind us during many Masses, "None of us is guaranteed tomorrow". Live well, love one another and be charitable to those in need.
  13. Duplicate. See: http://www.xtremeidiots.com/index.php?/topic/38290-how-to-uninstall-mcafee/#entry401154
  14. And it remains a stupid and very dangerous idea...
  15. As he hasn't visited since July 2012, I reckon he is very much MIA and I hope he'll come back sometime and play with us again. AmboyDuke was one of those who supported my entry into XI when he was an H-ADM so I have warm feelings towards him wherever he is and whatever he is doing in life. I hope he's enjoyed his birthday but our good wishes are unlikely to reach him.
  16. RIP Slim Whitman (UK Number One with this song in 1955)
  17. 15 years? That would be around the time I installed their First Aid 98 software that resulted in reinstatement of factory settings and huge data loss...
  18. Old news and plans now removed from public access on request of the US government... http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2013/may/09/3d-printed-guns-plans-state-department
  19. It looks like it is bricking consoles especially those with third-party upgraded hard drives... Read all about it: http://www.psu.com//a019911/Warning--PS3-firmware-445-is-bricking-systems
