I would consider adding a scope to that rig. Coyotes ain't that big and at more than 200 yards open sights will be a challenge. Understand that this sentiment comes from a person who has never left a wounded animal in the woods, if I shot at it I got it. I have often told my youngest son the best shot he ever made was the one he didn't take when he was not sure he could make the kill. Also take time to look up Trajectory Charts. They can give you the exact yardage for your "Zero" and how high or low to aim at other yardages. Range 100 yds. 200 yds. 300 yds. 400 yds. 500 yds. + + 1.4 0 - 7.2 - 22.3 - 48.7 The one above shows if you are "Zero" at 200 yds you will shoot 1.4" high at 100 yds. and 7.2" low at 300 yds. Understand the gun and ammo each add some variables. Just some understanding of trajectory is very useful. Essentially this one is saying if you hit 1.4" high at 100 yds you will be right on target at 200 yds.
