His point is, whomever had the chat online with origin, is now being told that any purchased goods via digital download with your EA account, and payed good money for games, since EA is now Origin, you cannot log in or use those games,i.e. wasted money and you will never be able to use them ever again, as I read it, in other  words, if you bought a digitally downloaded game from EA pre-Origin, your fucked as you can't transfer ownership.

To me , this is possibly illegal, or downright corruption all due to change of name and ownership.

It's like buying a car, then being told you can't use it if another company buys the car maker.

Wankers!

 Wow, that's criminal.

You can always steal what you already own off torrents but that doesn't fix the fact that EA (Origin) sucks as a company.

EAs Q&A

Not all titles are supported at this time, but we are continually working to add support for titles. Older games such as BF2 use an older type of code that we are still working to support.

http://support.ea.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5291/showhome/true

If EA was a decent company they would have left the old store up until they got it working, but EA has always done things at the clients expense.

Same thing has happened with Steam, we all know about it, i still don't see his point, does this mean none of us will buy BF3 no of course not, millions of us will still be shelling out for it as soon as it is released, can't believe we still get shocked when these big companies rip us offFrown

Sry, i personnaly didn't know... I just found ironic (fun or not) to lost your game after paid it, just cause the company is sold, not really decent like WIMMPYIII said.

I know we're fucked sob but i (always) find that amazing... was just the point, sry for having disturbed you m8 :)

Anyway, BF3 will be good Laughing

I for one, unless everyone else buys it which will force me to get to game with XI, will not purchase MW3, don't care how good it may be, as morally they (EA) are a bankrupt company.

Heff you seem to be a bit confused EA is behind BF3  not MW3 its the other set of tossers Activision Treyarch and Infinity Ward behind that, we are running a 64 slot server for BF3 many XI  members already have the game pre ordered, if we all took a stance against these big companies that rip people off then we would have no games at all because everyone of them are guilty of something.

If you read th e UA you wil find some words that say the game is not yours only lent to you to play. You never owned it never.

Here's the one from Black Ops was the closest to me

Wow SOB you ran a pretty strong smear campaign against BlackOps. So its just the games you like that we don't take a stance against?

Both Steam and Origin say in their EULA's that you essentially have rights to your game for only 1 yr, after that it's at their discretion, so it's not illegal. It sucks ass, but it's not illegal. I think Steam is a better system than Origin, but as was said earlier, the same thing happened when Steam rolled out. My guess is that more and more games will be added as time goes on.

Get used to it. This is the way gaming is going to be from now on as even your physical copy of the game has to be tied to an online service. These services save the publishers a crapload of money, and that's all they're really interested in. As long as millions of people buy their games, they'll get away with whatever they can.
