I have had 2 Ipod's, an Iphone and an Ipad. Set up my Dad's Iphone and my Mom's Ipad. Not once have I had a problem. I guess it must be operator error. On the other hand, I would never buy/own a Mac. I am extremly well versed in all things electronic. I have a totall of FOUR iPods and will post a pic of them soon. I have used Winamp with the iPod plug in and it totally rocks. Drag and drop and done. I have used media monkey which was designed for videos and it behaves much better than iTunes and can be used to sync iPods easily. I have used Floola and while it is a very BASIC media mover it works at least as good iTunes. When I rip a CD I use Exact Audio Copy for extraction and Lame to convert to mp3's. I usually keep all files as wav's because I can hear the difference in just about everything short of 192 bitrate. So as far as operator error it's possible but highly improbable. The reason for four iPods-my family knows I'm into music and get them as gifts regularly. I also own two Samsung clips. I would also like to note that thru this thread multiple people, truely the vast majority, see it my way. So as to your point I see a total of TWO who like iTunes. Why cant you live without it.. or what make u want to live with it. Better???? foobar2000 free light and has all features I need. But I did not program.. i just use programs. My iPod touch was working fine. Never had a problem. iTunes started bugging the hell out of me to update it, so i finally did. Big mistake! I ended up with a crashed computer and a non-working iPod. After several hours, I got every thing back up and running but the iPod and iTunes insisted that the iPod had to be returned to it's original factory settings. UGH!!!! Why??? The iPod worked great until the update!!!!! So, after researching and realizing it was my only option, I restored it. Then I had let the incompetent iTunes attempt to reload everything......unsuccessfully. Everything is running now but nothing is the way it was before the dreaded update. The day before yesterday was the first day I got music on one for them. In the process I seem to have lost about 300gig of music and even more has been converted to AAC format and deleted the original. After fighting this foul thing for about a week I finally manged to get it to work. The oldest is happy now. On to the second........... I plug in the second, rename it ,and go thru the setup sequence. Easy enough, BUT even though I set it to be manually managed, it automatically loaded the WHOLE iPod. The next few minutes are spent sitting idlely while it syncs. Well now I can't pick all songs and delete I have to spend the next hour deleting the individual song separately. So today my task is to get the wanted music on the other iPod reload all my lost music from backup and keep my blood pressure low enough to maintain a healthy day. FUCK IPOD AND ITUNES. yup. Apple sux. I have never owned an Ipod, Ipad, iphone, etc. All I did was watch all my friends and customers aggravations with them. Lets just say if I was even given or won an ipod I would sell it quickly.... Digital music issues galore... didya know you have only some many RIPs to CD for purchased music? WOW. If I paid for it I should be able to do whatever I want with it! Reasons to say no to Apple? #1 - OVERPRICED - I have a 4gb player thats WAY smaller than an ipod. And its about 1/10th the price. guess how often I change music on it? maybe 2x a year.. Ever see how much those accessories are for ipods? wow. #2 DRM - I say Fuck You to any form of DRM I can. If I am going to give you money I better be able to do what I want with it. MP3 and AAC for me! #3 - If you want a device that won't lock you out of innovation, skip the iPhone. They want to monopolize everything so badly they with make the customer suffer for it. Ever hear of Google voice? research it if not, you will be glad you did. I studied, and reserached tablets for months before i purchased one. I looked into anything from chinease cheap ones to anytghin in the name brand market. Ervery Tablet seemd to have its own little pros and cons. Some are better than others in certain areas. I wanted a transformer for sure, as its rated the top tablet .. But the price put it out of my reach.. The next one in line that was a close second was the Motorola Xoom. Was at costco for $399 (32gb) model. I truly love my tablet and use it alot. Im certainly not a mac fan for sure.. so ipod, itablet, ipad, itampone, icondom's iwhatever isnt aloud in my house..LOL I have an HTC desire HD android phone that works very well also. I will admit that i do have itunes on my pc.. but simply to purchase music..they all get converted to mp3 for my other devices. I looked through many online music providers and it came down to there were some artists and albums that my daughters wanted that were on itunes only.. so as they usualy do.. they got dad to go agasint his anti-mac beliefs for them.. mabey the wife is right the girls got me twisted around their fingers.. lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
