I just read about this prototype electric motorbike, called the "zecOO":

4f9d213001541_zecOOelectricmotorcycle.jpg

Top speed of 75mph on a 4-6 hour charge. What do you think?

For me, its appearance is attractive but it seems otherwise impractical and unattractive.

The beauty of motorcycles includes the way they sound and smell!

I couldn't see myself getting worked up too much about a belt-driven humming thing.

Oh, and they want US$70k for it too!

Read all about it and view more pictures at BIKEEXIF.

I am more a fan of bikes like this (just need the lottery win to finance it!):

will the electric car cost you more money or save you money over time?

What happens when the batteries need to be changed? Sure it is $1000 and up. Electric cars batteries cost some $6000. How is that saving money? Pay $40,000+ for a Chevy Volt and get 42mpg and pay $6000 in 4 to 5 years to keep it going. Primitive batteries............ until they let us have better technology... yes I said "let us" we will have crap electric cars that will cost more energy than it saves.

Your driving environment needs to be ideally suited to an electric vehicle for any hope of saving money.

Example, heavy traffic, lots of stops and starts.

not to mention the cost for charging it up, you'll think after time that'll cost heaps.

ok not as much as gas but still

Nahhh, I'll take an old T140 with leaky pushrod tubes and drippy amal carbs any day. Throw in a new set of points & condensers. Open pipes while your at it. Half-deaf now, might as well finish off.
