Dude, I don't know what the fook to do to get it on the other server???? I would have to delete everything off the entire map basicly except buildings, trees and bushes to get it down to that lol.... oh eah and doesn't include all the weapons and tables in the attic..... There must be something else we can do, I understood that count could be in the thousands, and there is APPROX. 4500 give or take a hundred or two..... I know hidden valley has over a thousand.....I'm not sure what to do

Not how many copies of each one. So 10 copies of the same potted plant counts as 1 towards that limit. If 10 different kinds of potted plants are desired then the best thing to do is combine all 10 into one model. Place the model and hide the 9 you dont want. Watch out for built in weapon pickups. Most mods with custom weapons dont like that and it will cause conflicts. Awards

And always keep in mind it's the complecity of the errors thats makes you a great mapper BAH I suk as a mapper ok I had to go back to the pm......Rugger said he couldn't get it to load on the beta server, it gave no error message and showed nothing in the console..... the shitcago server gave this error: Error: Exceeded limit of 1000 'xmodel' assets. I never got an error of any kind while compiling, building ff, or playing....no not even in radient either, no errors at all The only thing I noticed was my hurt triggers were not working on the server (ftag1).... I went back in and reduced the amount by 5 or 6, compiled tested and they all worked for me while testing this time, but only 1 had not worked before anyway while testing.... but on the server none of them worked! maybe reducing the amount will help that out, right? I never did try for the heli paths because there were like 10 script origins in that tut sammy gave us & I already had several between setting up the game types and the teleports I have, so I was afraid I would exceed the amount I could use...

Just fyi, the beta mod has the potential for 31 custom xmodels in a game. That includes custom weapons, vehicles and player hands etc. To be fair thats more than most mods but has always been a hard limit to keep it in line with the total 1.3 had. A couple custom maps I have played push it so much that nothing but modwarfare... with zero custom xmodels at all... would work without that error. Designer decision on how compatible their map is to be and there is no right answer. Awards

I Made a bunch of single steps to make a staircase but had to "reduce the number of polygons". This meant I had to join the individual steps into one starcase. Reduced my xmodels drastically.

I think the issue here is the amount of maps in the rotation . Yours more then likely the one that put it over the limit. What happens (and I think this is what happened) Is the mod reads all the iwd from all the maps in the rotation. When you add up all the xmodels in all those maps your over 100. Cod4 is so long ago for me but what I think the answer is is to place a blank arena file in the mod iwd. Or maybe remove some maps from the rotation or it might be to place a blank arena folder in your maps iwd. I'm sure Rugger knows all about this. Maybe he just needs a reminder about it. As for which, it depends on your point of view. Either the mod has too many assets to work with the map. Or the map has too many assets to work with the mod. In this case its the number of unique xmodels but could easily be how many materials or effects are used. Awards

This is what is needed for the M16: 6 viewmodels for the model that has iron sights, rds, and acog. One non-camo and 5 more for the camo versions (M16 Brock etc in the raw folder). 6 viewmodels for the GL version. 6 viewmodels for the silenced version. 3 for the world models used for player bodies, weapon stowing, and pickups. So 21 for that one weapon. Multiply that by 6 for the class and you've got 126 xmodels that count towards the 1000. It adds up fast. In contrast the MW2 mod has 28 custom xmodels in total. Awards

From that the game figures out what to load and how to play the map and mod. The arena file is part of what it goes to read. So if your arena file has a list of maps with game types IE map rotaions, different ways of naming your map , different maps for different game types. If its a balnk arena file the game thinks your the only map . Well something like that. This way the mod does not go and read all the other maps and loads all the other textures and fx's and so on. It's a bandaid fix at best and might not work. The other way is to make small map packs so what the mod reads is smaller. Its a mess. Awards
