Dont deny you want to smoke when you have a craving. When you do tell yourself.. no I am not and remind youself why you are quitting. It helps them move on faster as you are distracting your original thought even though you are talking about it. The cravings will get less and less over time. This helps them go away faster. 7 days... the hardest part if it is over. The other hard part is when you are feeling better and you slip for stress reasons or trigger. Thats when most ex smokers start back up again. I had quit for 2 years and had no desire to smoke at all. I went to visit my best friend from high school and we play this stock market board give like we did in school and well that game last for 8 to 12 hours. I just had to have a cig when we played. I then started smoking. That game, my friend and my weakness was the trigger. It is psychology.... you can call it a bit of brain washing. No different than an advertisement. McDonald's anyone? It keeps the hot side hot and the cold side cold. ChknFngr 1

I smoked for over 35 yrs. what made me quite was triple heart bypass last March, and a big part of the by pass was do to diabetes, diabetes causes the cloging of the artiries much faster. So really watch the diabetes closely. Diabetes kills your body from the inside out, it really does kill the whole body. Four years after becoming diabetic I had my first heart attack. I had 3 all together. Please really watch the blood sugers. My thoughts are with you Hacheklaus
