Cops said he had just plead guilty to DUI in Indiana 2 weeks before. Believe me, I gave him the fatherly lecture about alcohol and how he could have killed someone like a little kid on a bike. Of course, he left in handcuffs....hell, we had 3 cop cars at one point! I live on the same raod as one of the only night clubs in a DRY county. I see a ton of drunk driving wrecks. I do not even go to them when they wreck, I will call police for them, but I will not lend aid to them. My roommate got hit 4 weeks ago. Took her front bumper off. The guy ran and she chased his fucking ass down dragging her bumper under her car. I had to fight hard the insurance company as the witness we cant contact anymore. Well the police report says he ran and we would have gone to court as no way she would lose on this one. They are going to total her car as well. But I will rig the car as no blinker at all and of course missing bumper. Once she gets a check we hit the junk yard and fix it back up. Insurance is required in Ohio but there's tons of people that don't have it still. Over the years I've been hit by 3 different lamers with no insurance and know another 20+ stories of friends and family hit but these kind of bastards. My insurance covered me minus my $250 deductible. I bought a new SUV a few days later. It's a 2006 Explorer Limited loaded up. I need something that can haul 6-7 people and my dog for hiking trips. I guess the point is that you have insurance to protect you from what you might do, as opposed to having it because other people might cock up.... What would happen in a case like this if he was sober and just made a mistake???? Would he go to jail for not having insurance, could he be forced to pay for your new truck? Or is it just bad luck???
