I took those pictures before I waxed it so it's a bit darker now (more contrast). I don't think I'll stain it because the stem is fairly light as well and they look nice together. I put a brushed aluminum ring around the tenon so it looks good now. When it's light tomorrow I'll take some pics! hxtr

I've already finished it lol. Unfortunately because of my busy school schedule, if i'm going to get a project finished i have to really focus on it. Also i'm a hardcore procrastinator so if i don't go 100% on something, it aint ever getting done lol.

The pipe didn't turn out exactly as I expected but I'm still very happy with it and immensely proud of the result of my labor. I can't wait to break it in, take it down to the bar, smoke with my mates, and discuss what's wrong with the world in an astute manner only possible when smoking a churchwarden. Cost: $32 - 4 blocks of briar (I still have 3 left) $8 - 12 inch x 1/8 inch drill bit for stem $18 - 3/4 inch S&D drill bit for bowl $12 - various grit level sand paper $1 - Nylon tube used for tenon $? - Random uncolored-unscented candle used for waxing $? - Cedar branch harvested from back yard $? - Aluminum tube I found laying around. (used as ring around tenon) (estimated 15 hours of work) * minimum wage = $140 Grand total: $200 + loaderXI and LordOfChaos

I am really impressed dude! That is some fine work. A couple of questions... That don't look like red cedar; you sure it's not yellow cedar? Perhaps it's your camera not catching the colour properly. Now the next step is to grow your own tobbacco... Then cure it with a fine brandy... Woodworking is a fine art. My grandad once made an entire boat in his basement, lol all the neighbours laughed thinking he couldn't get it out, but he made it so you could dismantle it and put it back together. Don't ask me how, but he did it. I once made a pipe out of soap stone. Was the form of a Cobra snake. Very cool. You should be very proud of your work. It is very cool... Deserves a medal of some sort... Gotta figure out which one would apply... eidolonFIRE
