I don't know how many other members or players have had a heart attack. In September of 2010, I was having a numb feeling in my left arm for 2 days, I kept shrugging it off, thinking I got bit by something. One day I went to work, I work at Union Pacific Railroad, My are was still bugging me. as it got close to lunch, I decided to go see the company nurse, I walked through the diesel shop and I was having a tough time breathing, as I sat at a table , I knew something wasn't right. I told the nurse about what was going on, she said I was having a heart attack and gave me a nitro pill and called 911. I was in a backroom lying on the table with an oxygen mask waiting for the ambulance. The hospital was 5 minutes away, but the ambulance was blocked at the crossing for 20 minutes because of a train sitting there. The Yardmaster was supposed to get the train out of the way as soon as there is an emergency. I was very close to passing out by the time they got to me, the emt's gave me more nitro and rushed me to the hospital. I had 100% blockage on one artery and 85% on another. I have 4 stints put in. I was very lucky. I ended up going to cardiac rehab for three months! Anyways I thought I would share my story. Does anyone have any stories of survival?

Holy crap, Elvis, I'm glad you're still with us!

I always carry a bottle of Bayer 325-mg tablets in my coat in case I, or any one else around me has heart-attack symptoms.

In fact, one of my co-workers ran into my office and yelled "Paul, you have to come see Cindy!"

Cindy was one of my subordinate female employees (who is older than me), and she expressed some of those symptoms; e.g., sweatiness, difficulty breathing, etc.

I told someone standing by to call for an ambulance. I ran back to my office and took one 325-mg aspirin tablet from my coat and ran back to Cindy. I told her to chew it and swallow it while someone was getting her water.

I told the growing crowd that I was going down to the 1st floor (we were on the 11th) to wait for the paramedics and to ask the security guard to hold an elevator for us.

On the way up the elevator, I advised them that I gave Cindy an aspirin tablet.

Cindy had to have emergency surgery--but it wasn't for her heart, it was to remove a golf-ball-sized gall stone from her gall bladder.

When she made it back to work, our (her?) standing joke was "If you ever have a gall stone, have Paul give you an aspirin and make you chew it."

Lol, you can't make up stories like that. Ayaq

I had open heart surgery in 2008. I have since had a pacemaker put in although the wife was not impressed because it didn't come with a remote for her. I also have stint put in still blocked arteries but they can't do anything with them. My lesson here if you smoke think about quitting as I was a heavy smoker and it almost cost me my life. The Dr. doesn't know how I did survive the heart attack.

I had never smoked in my life, I just had a bad cholesterol problem, I can't even imagine having a pacemaker put in.

In 2002 I was 39yrs old working for a sign company, I got so stressed out at work I had a mild heart attack. I didn't find this out until 5 days later when I went to the clinic because I wasn't feeling good and when they checked me they told me I had to go to the Hospital where they took an EKG and told me that I had had a mild heart attack. So I went back to work and broke my bosses jaw and Quit.

Well, @@EastCoast50, @@Elvis9's motto is "Don't be cruel . . . to a heart that's dead . . . ," or something like that.

Frickin' Elvis.

Lol. Ayaq

In Dec 2016 i was  having an ache in my chest i thought it was because in oct - nov  i was really working hard outside and maybe pulled a muscle. When i finally went to the doctor and stress test then angiogram 99 percent blocked and 2 at 80 percent. So now 4 stents later feeling a lot better, but no snow shoveling.
