Hey all Idiot mechanics ,

As I'm driving home from work tonight I start to notice my 04 Jeep TJ pulling to the right a bit, thought wow thats wierd?

get home my right front wheel is smoking and wheel is hot to the touch not red hot hot, but hot. took tire off and the pads are tight on the rotor.

Question what would make this happen and how can I fix it by tommarrow morning?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you need a new brake caliper. It is strange because a buddy of mine had the same thing happen today on the way home and it was the brake caliper.

If it tends to pull to the right I'd say you have a Republican/conservative jeep that works hard and stays out of impound.  Tongue out

Just be carefull where brakes are concerned mate,

personally I'd go to the garage and let them look at it.

Over here in the UK we have a chain of garages (Quickfit) who will check brakes and tyres etc out for free.

Is there anywhere like that you could take it to?.

Anyway best of luck.

You have alot of possable problems Caliber, rust builds up where the pads are suppsed to slide, sliders are frozen no caliper gease there. Another possible problem is a bad wheel bearing. I've seen so many different problems that its hard to tell what it is until your get right to it. If it is the caliper replace both front . If you need more help i'm sure one of us can help you out.

Well from a guy who spends his life on the road its your front brakes. This is not a place to play and nit pick parts. Replace caliper rotor pads on both sides. Remember you might have someone else in the heep with you. And if you have any mechanical abilitys its an easy job.
