It's a Honda Civic LX 5 speed manual.  The previous owner was a mechanic & did some modifications.  It's not obnoxiously loud & Hondas rev high; their motors are designed to rev high; which lets you jump around through the gears in many fun ways.

95 dbA is the legal limit for vehicle exhaust noise in California. Police officers can “exercise their judgment” in determining if your exhaust noise is over the legal limit. Most factory-installed exhaust systems even on powerful sports cars don't exceed 75 decibels.

key after reading  should been $50

he lives in TN and TN says Fuck CA we do not have codes to stop straight pipes or mods, so i think if he wants to make it less loud he should add a garret T-65 Turbo zoom zoom Timmah!

seems TN is lower

Tip

: Always check with local county laws in Tennessee to make sure you are following any municipal noise ordinances that may be more stringent than state-level laws.

i thinks Tim is in new york

ordinance not say level but for stae wide is 74dB

D.O.T. Tennessee Code 55-9-202 – Mufflers — Muffler cutouts prohibited — Penalty. (a) No person shall drive a motor vehicle on any road, street or highway unless the motor vehicle is equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and annoying smoke.

I live in Kentucky,  no roof racks.  Just use my judgment when to shift around 2.5 as opposed to 3-4 rpms.  This model year redlines at 7.  Lots of fun.

yeah well there was more to the story I didnt put in.  I was also doing 70 mph in a 40mph zone trying to beat the light.  Let me off easy with a 200 dollar noisy muffler cause I had no prior convictions. lol  So guess I was happy not to have a moving violation.
