Can I use same CoD World at War account on my new computer?

Hey All,

I've got a new gaming computer and I'd like to be able to use my same name/account, NorCal_Jared. I originally installed the game using a disc. Does anyone know if it'd work if I used the same disc on my new computer, or if I need to just move to the steam platform (would it be possible to keep my game name with this option?) Any help is appreciated!

first this a CD or Steam install ? 

the old system  working ?  use a flash drive to copy over to new sys  and  copy the game folder and from 

 C:\Users\your named\AppData\Local\Activision...CD version

Steam folder  copy  from old drive to new system steam folder or use the steam install key, write down all your steam keys

not known your space/drives on new system  C:\ is the default 

note: you can't use both systems online with same game key , if have a cd and steam  key  yes

My old computer is still working and years back I had installed the game on it from a cd. My new system doesn't have a cd drive (and I think I gave my external cd reader away), so I just installed it from Steam. So, should I now just swap over the C:\Users\your named\AppData\Local\Activision and drop it into where it goes in the steam folder? Thanks Kapt!

nope thats for the cd version, need to read the COPY link above 

for steam install and have steam loaded on new system

then make a ISO of install disc to flash drive that's big enough to hold all the data .  READ

Or just install the game either cd or steam it will work just fine. For the cd install copy and move your profile from old PC to the gaming PC.

sorry cant help i did reinstall from original Cd and worked fine.

just remeber your online name thats it.

Copy the app data from old PC and transfer it to your new one after its installed so u keep ur attachments and rank level and what not. The app data folder will have all the maps u already played downloaded.

Thanks all for the input. I had great trouble trying to get steam CoD WaW to work yesterday (wouldn't let me create a profile-seems too common of a problem based on message boards). I'll instead try making an ISO of my original disc and installing that on my new machine, then bring over my profile folders.
