Nothing wrong with peaceful demonstrations. You dont have to agree with it. But this is America, not Russia with its anti-war protesters being rounded up by Putin.

Went to Hagerstown MD yesterday to visit my son and his family.

Every bridge we went under was just like this.

We passed the convoy going the opposite direction.

It was pretty impressive....

Surprising to me considering truckers spend most of their time behind a wheel, seemingly unaffected by the mask requirement...only 1 restaurant has insisted I wear a mask, so I dropped the delivery & don't accept orders from there...so over the mask thing...2 years is long enough, for me.

The US truckers began their convoy in support of the Canadian Trucker convoy who were protesting Vax Pass to work mandates and Vax Pass mandates to cross the border ... had nothing to do with masks for most of them.

Here in Canada we also had the added threat of potentially requiring Vax Pass to cross Provincial borders which thank goodness did not get enacted by our Supreme Leader.

Mandates have been ending or have ended. We can resume a normal life minus any restriction requirements from one nation to the next.

 Carry on.

Doing gig economy 70 hrs./wk...I was over the mandates in my context about 5 months ago...if someone in there buying food for dine-in or carryout, they don't have standing to complain...& the employees mostly were wearing masks because their employers' requirement, management included.   If you're in the service industry & it ain't killed you after 18+ months of continuous daily exposure,  it's prolly not going to.  And if you're a customer patronizing a luxury such as dine-in or carryout...well then, that's tacit acceptance of any risks...

For me, I've operated with the mantra 'your house, your rules' for 18 months now.  If I didn't like the rules, I took my service skills and/or money elsewhere.  At first the options were limited, but as the underground economy grew and boomed outside of the mainstream BS, all the regular options came available for us again.  The most satisfying thing has been the sprouting up of underground dining rooms, churches and other such gatherings.  Locally we have a private movie theater which seats 45 people and has double shows on Friday nights.  We even have a private minor hockey league here in MB and is thriving with 15 or so teams.  Our church has about 120 members and meets in a machine shop north of town here.  Many of these will carry on even after the local mandates are finally lifted (if ever here in Canada.)

Mandates still prevent about 60% of the people in my local area from travelling anywhere by plane, train or bus.  And our Supreme Leader shows no signs of following the science that everyone else both here and around the world is following.  So more civil disobedience is required ... and in the works.
