So, I had "Go to Loch Ness and look for Nessie" on my bucket list, so I went... Here is my recommended place to stay (while you search for the Loch Ness Monster, etc.)  https://www.unique-cottages.co.uk/cottages/highlands/inverness-loch-ness/bk7-strone-house?sa=X&ved=0CAMQFmoXChMI4MSepoy_gwMVAAAAAB0AAAAAEAw

As for PARIS, may I recommend the Ile Saint-Louis ---> https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/513757?source_impression_id=p3_1704212399_%2F0GIA1HOUYZmsPQB

Ice Cream --> https://berthillon.fr/

Bistro --> https://www.lesaintregis-paris.com/

THE BEST in my humble opinion!  Restaurant (very small - she owns it, she serves it, she makes it)  -> https://anysetiersduroy.com/

(Enjoy!  or should I say, Bon Voyage and ... Bon Appetit!)

OMG Basil, what an opportunity you missed, that's where I've been, monster hunting, if only you'd known I'm sure you'd have shared a sleeping bag, I was on the opposite side of the loch, damn

Since I lived near Washington, DC I never did need to stay at a hotel there, but here is the best of the best - where I would steer folks (expensive but heck... pretty views and easy location to "everything".)  https://www.themostperfectview.com/washington-dc-hotels-best-views  (The Willard, if you want to maybe see a glimpse of "famous or infamous" folks out and about and it is walking distance to the White House)  Alexandra, VA   if you like American Colonial-ish ambiance  - all and all lots of choices, but DO NOT miss all the Smithsonian Museums!    https://www.si.edu/visit/hours

As for other wonderful things to see and do in the DC area --->

HAVE FUN IF YOU GO!  :animier:  🌎

Well congratulations @Majbasil for not doing the normal Americans tour of London, Paris etc and going somewhere nice, although it's very quiet and not for some.

As for snow skiing,  in the North America region the best USA State (obviously) COLORADO

For kids - best ski school -- STEAMBOAT

For bowls and oooo nice --- VAIL

For rain, slush, sorry to say, BUT lovely nevertheless ---> Whistler/Blackcomb north of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada   LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF RUNS, and the tops have glaciers so you can even snow ski in the summer up top.  Nicest thing to me about this resort vs others in British Columbia is it's proximity to Vancouver and Seattle the drive up from Vancouver is pretty.

PRETTY!  (And maybe awesome snows too)  Heavenly at Lake Tahoe, California https://www.skiheavenly.com/     this is a nice you tube blog with good photo and info -->

PRETTY as well, and I love it probably the most of all the ski resorts in the world -- TELLURIDE, Co.

As for East Coast, you risk ice, imho out west is better, BUT  VERMONT ... ❤️
