Well Mrs. Smeggie and I are taking a trip that nobody wants to take. Headed to Eastern Texas to settle my father (who will be 95 in 3 weeks) and step-mother into a nursing home. Dad is basically blind and my step mother has dementia. Neither of them can care for one another anymore, and they decided it's time..... Probably will be the last time I get to see my dad, unfortunately. I am sure I will need some in game banter from @ShadyBrady, @Tiger! and @Qualicum when I get back....so be prepared! Thank you all. I love my XI family! Today was a tough day, but tomorrow will be the toughest. We got a lot of things out of the house and donated. Tomorrow they move into the nursing home and the rest of the house gets cleared out and whether donated or hauled to the dump. So many memories....remember to cherish the time you spend with family. You will never get that time back. Love to all...

The hardest thing I have ever had to do was to say goodbye to my twin boys that died at birth in 1990. And this was damn close to that... Walking away from the man that made me who I am...the one I idolized, my role model and the person I tried to emulate my entire life just plain sucked. Leaving him in that nursing home and hoping total strangers will care for him just ripped my heart out. It goes against every bone in my body. I am seriously heartbroken. I hope that I get to see him again....but only time will tell.

Can't sleep so here I am! Depending on feedback, I can make a post for other primary weapons. Here's my opinions and what attachment and Perk 1 I would use. Assault Rifles: M16A4: Pros: One shot kill range even with a silencer. Hip fire accuracy. Reload speed. Cons: Burst fire is punishing if you miss. Attachment I would use: Silencer Perk 1: Armor Piercing, Double Tap, Venom. Hitting as many of the three rounds as possible for as much damage is key. AK-47: Pros: Reload speed. Power. Sheer fun. Cons: Limited Range. Even worse with a silencer. Idle Sway (crosshair movement when aimed down sight) Attachment I would use: None (Iron Sights) Perk 1: Armor Piercing, Double Tap. You just need to hit someone. HK416: Pros: Hip fire accuracy (especially with Double Tap). Reload speed Cons: Limited Range. Even worse with a silencer. Idle Sway. Attachment I would use: ACOG (I thought it was a meme but I think the red dot sight is worse for this gun.) Perk 1: Armor Piercing to maximize range. Double Tap for hip firing and getting bullets down range. Just need to hit someone. SC-2010: Pros: Magazine size. Low recoil. One shot kill potential. Cons: Might be the slowest draw after returning from a RC-XD. I'm pretty sure you are visible before your gun is. You are better off forcing your spawn by shooting. Attachment I would use: Silencer Perk 1: Armor Piercing, Venom, Sleight of Hand. Armor Piercing increases one shot kill potential. Otherwise the bullets are weaker. Venom works here because even if they get away from you, they are forced to heal themselves or else they die. Sleight of hand works if you take a few shots to kill someone. Saritch 308: Pros: No recoil, no idle sway, infinite range even with a silencer. Most popular gun, so you can always find ammo on the ground. Cons: Reload speed. Reload frequency. Attachment I would use: Silencer. Perk 1: Anything really due to how much ammo you can find on the ground. Sleight of Hand takes away the gun's weaknesses but you can be countered with Body Armor. Armor Piercing fixes that. M14 EBR: Pros: One shot kill potential. Range. Reload speed. Cons: Hard to hit moving targets due to recoil. Attachment I would use: Silencer for stealth. Red Dot Sight for easier sniping. Perk 1: Armor Piercing makes this a one shot kill. HK416 Special: Pros: Additional attachments. Reload Speed. Cons: Silencer makes this gun worse. Fixed attachments. Perk 1: Armor Piercing or Sleight of Hand. The silencer makes this gun worse so you will be using more ammo. M-16 Special: Pros: Additional attachments. Reload speed. Cons: It feels like the silencer makes this M16 worse than the non-Special M16. Recoil. Fixed Attachments. Perk 1: Armor Piercing. Due to recoil, this gun behaves differently than the non-Special M16. These are my opinions. Let me know what you think!

I will go into more detail for this guide since shotguns are my favorite. For the record, I don't agree with everything a call of duty wiki says, especially when it comes to the range of the shotguns. The Grip gives you further range, period. Quick Tip 1: Shotguns shoot pellets. For any other type of weapon, the only way to kill a Second Chance (Last Stand) user in one shot is to get a headshot. With shotguns, you have enough pellets to one shot them regardless. In my experience, Armor Piercing allows me to do this. Quick Tip 2: Thanks to @Deckard, there is no reason not to use the Grip attachment, unless you prefer defrosting with a Red Dot Sight. I can explain more about the Grip later and a bug that can be annoying. Quick Tip 3: Even when I have gotten a nuke, I have never run out of ammo for a shotgun. The only reason to use the Scavenger perk is for your pistol. M1014: Semi-Automatic. You can fire all four shots consecutively without reloading. Fire as fast as you can click. This shotgun has more range than the SPAS-12 but the shots are weaker. Perks can help. Easy to use but you have to reload a lot. I will explain the SPAS-12 before I go over how I recommend using these shotguns. SPAS-12: My favorite shotgun in any game I have played. Pump Action. For how loud this gun is, missing a shot is a death sentence. Unless... The skill ceiling is why I love this shotgun. In Call of Dutyt 4, pump action shotguns, such as the W1200, can be manually pumped so you can shoot faster. The SPAS-12 in our mod behaves the same way. Almost like a free Double Tap. All you have to do is hit your change weapon key twice in between shots. With enough practice, I am also able to use my W key while shooting faster so I can close the distance. It took a lot of practice. Some call it an exploit, but the shotgun can actually jam if you do it too fast which can get you killed. Jam meaning you have to stop what you are doing to let it pump once back to normal. I almost always die when that happens. Back to @Deckard. Years ago when I first started playing this mod, I didn't know what I did, but after selecting the Grip attachment, I was still able to use the default RPGs. At one point, that went away and I actually thought it got patched. Years went by. After spectating Deckard in this year, I noticed he had a Grip on his shotgun but also had three EMP grenades. He explained to me how you can have a Grip AND an Inventory item. To do this, pick a shotgun, set up your class, select the Grip, and save your class. At the beginning of each round, open your shotgun class and select the shotgun you want again (even if it is the one you have saved). You will notice your Inventory icon is now red. You will see the Grip icon is still there but now you can pick your preferred Inventory item and save the class. If you use this class the whole round, you will have your Inventory item each life. Like I said, you have to do this at the beginning of the round or if you switch to another gun and back to shotguns. The bug I mentioned earlier affects your Perk 1 when you do this. Sometimes your Perk 1 will revert back to Stopping Power, so you have to pay attention to that (Stopping Power sucks). This can become a headache, so you can also go without an Inventory item, like I did for years and your Perk 1 should be fine. How I use each shotgun: Grip Always. For Perks, Armor Piercing, Dead Silence, and Stealth. The combination of Armor Piercing and the Grip maximized your kill radius. For your pistol too. Dead Silence allows you to sneak up on people. Without it, people can hear you coming further than you can shoot back. Stealth allows you to get past bouncing betties and claymores without tripping them and not be targeted by killstreaks. Your teammates can still trip the betties or clays, so don't get too close. The exception is Sentry Guns and Helicopters, if you shoot while within their range, they will kill you. I use the .44 Mag because Armor Piercing basiically makes it a sniper rifle. I think it is more accurate than the Desert Eagle but not by much. Coin flip between an EMP grenade or Smoke Grenade which allows you to cross streets without getting picked off. One major advantage to the SPAS-12 over the M1014 is coming back from spawn protection. Weapons in our mod that have a slow change weapon speed can shoot instantly out of spawn protecting if you shoot to exit spawn protection, hit your change weapon key twice, and shoot again. I can do this very quickly to insta kill people. Doing this with the M1014 oftentimes leads to you drawing your pistol if you don't time it right which has less of a chance to get a hip fire kill than the shotgun does. How I recommend each shotgun for beginners: M1014: Instead of Armor Piercing, use Sleight of Hand. There have been plenty of times I missed all four shots in a panic. Reloading quickly can save you. RPGs are fun too with Sleight of Hand. SPAS-12: Instead of Armor Piercing, Double Tap to shoot faster. Note: the manual weapon switching I mentioned earlier stacks with the Double Tap perk). My last piece of advice: as you can see, I am a huge advocate of Armor Piercing. Without it, it might take two shots to kill. If I think of anything else, I will comment below.

The Grip with Inventory item feature also applies to LMGs, as Deckard pointed out.
