  1. Welcome back, Tom! Why did they lock you up??
  2. Thank you for the birthday wishes. I am pleased to have completed another solar transit. The day itself was lousy.
  3. I would suggest that if anyone feels the need to not only own a gun but to carry it about when they go shopping, they are indeed terrified. If they are not frightened, why do they have to arm themselves? This isn't the behaviour of calm and rational human beings... I used to issue them and ammo to cops but point blank refused to carry one.
  4. It depends on the model. We used to pass the factory in Hinckley as it is right next to the Ashby Canal on which we would cruise. Where In The World Are Triumph Motorcycles Made? - Lets Ride MotoBike (letsridemotorbike.com)
  5. I used to live with my parents in a new flat on the fourth floor on the previous site of large multi-storey Victorian houses. Those that survived beneath Dover Castle had sweeping staircases up which one would ascend to the flats into which they had been converted. I got out of bed to get a drink one night and saw the lower half of a woman's body, clad in a long skirt, disappearing through the ceiling as if ascending a staircase! It's true - the hairs on my neck stood up and I shivered with cold. On went every light in that place and it took a while for me to calm down. I don't believe that "ghosts" are more than visions of people in the past or future, viewed through cracks in the space-time continuum. I explain UFOs in the same way - it isn't a question of where they come from but when... Check out the stories of the Roman legions marching through cellars in Chester (Roman Dewa) to understand where I am coming from... One sighting I asked a Catholic priest about was of a golden orb in our previous home. He shrugged his shoulders and thought it was some demonic sign whereas I was sure I had seen religious literature featuring orbs. It was about the size of a golf ball, floating about 18 inches off the floor with a sort of cloud pattern covering its surface. As I approached, it disappeared into my PC tower! I pray to St Michael every day! "Defend us in the day of battle!".
  6. Wonderful news, Toes, and what a birthday present!
  7. It is such a shame you are so frightened that you need to arm yourselves...

  9. Pack your bags and put an extra cardigan on as I believe The Tower gets a little draughty at this time of the year...

  12. A true and generous friend with whom I had so many laughs and happy hours on the servers. As one of my original sponsors (along with Chile and AmboyDuke), he played a major part in my joining XI. Like you, I shall always remember him.
  13. Because the redirect is knackered and defaults to 12KBps, some of us have given up on it...
  14. Curry. Yes, due to our imperial past, dishes from the East, cooked with spices have become national favourites. Chicken Tikka Masala (pictured below) is said to have been invented in a Scottish curry house when a customer requested a sauce be served with his chicken tikka, cooked in a tandoor oven. The chef grabbed a can of cream of tomato soup and the CTM was born! There are many flavours and strengths of curry according to their region of origin. I prefer spicy foods so my favourite, encountered in Hong Kong in 1998, is Daging Bumbu Bali - a fiery Indonesian beef curry. I like vindaloo (Portuguese in origin from their former colony in Goa) and phall (very very hot) too. Among the Persian dishes from India (Farsi), I like Chicken Dhansak, cooked with lentils in the sauce. I eat Indian food (or Bangla Deshi) several times per week. ctm.jfif
  15. Most of those eaten in the UK are imported from Ireland. As you say, endangered species these days. I remember pinning my Scottish sergeant to the pub wall with a large bowl of these. He turned green and looked like he was going to throw up when I stuck my hand in and grabbed a handful to eat them with jelly running down my face. It was a strange stag night...
  16. I have now hit the Hunk memory error on mp_dawgy and still cannot find the cfg file to edit so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.
  17. No, it isn't there or in the Main folder...
  18. Where do I find the cfg file to edit seta com_hunkMegs "512"?
  19. Oh crumbs... Now I have to find and reinstall COD 2 onto this new PC...
  20. Didn’t expect to read such anti-vaxxer bollocks on here. I have a religious objection to the use of feral stem cells so can tell you the word is the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine does not contain them. If you really want to die, break the rules and don’t get vaccinated but don’t bore us in the process. Has the threshold for deletion been reached yet?
  21. My condolences, Dukoo. May happy memories assuage your grief at this saddest of times.
  22. Lucky you. I am skint and not old enough for government hand-outs. I have had this PC for 11 months and now CYRI suggests I need a CPU upgrade!
  23. Put those nuggets down and pay attention. 13 November.
