SpitFire i am running the x6 t1100 cpu and a gigabyte GA-870A-UD and it runs just fine and it gives me a lot of fun runs a little warm on the standard fan and i think i will replace it with a aftermarket cooler soon Yeah, I put the Corsair H70 on my T1100 and it hardly ever sees temps above 35C now (no OC at the moment). I was considering the Thermaltake FRIO if I was going with just fans, but I like the H70 self-contained water system.. but it's a bit pricey. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Corsair-H70-CPU-Water-Cooler-Review/1168/1 Some cool comparisons with fan units in this review.. good read if you are trying to decide on aftermarket cooling on CPU.

Arrienn I saw something where it said 6pm. So, someone asked what time zone. Their reply was that a massive earth quake and sunami would happen in each time zone at 6pm across the globe. HAHAHAHAHAHA Seriously???? Wow, that's one highly coordinated earthquake.. to move from one timezone to the next in one hour increments. That's a tight schedule. How they get tsunami to Kansas?

IF laughter is the best medicine, I'm gonna live forever!!! I literally cried, me and the wife are still reading them.

I'm here because it's the only servers I'm not banned on for hacking Really I'm here because I ran into some IDIOTS on other servers.. and liked playin with them so much that I came to THEIR servers (way back in the COD2 stone age).. I liked it so much, that it started to feel like home.. and I never left. What we have here ain't perfect, but it's pretty damn cool.

UnChileno GorillaXI Again Chile....I'm disturbed at why you have that picture on your PC. They do have support groups for that kind of stuff. ..I see you ARE disturbed by it..but yet..YOU CAME BACK FOR A SECOND LOOK... Chile, thank you!! That is THE hardest I have laughed in a long time. (Sorry GO-rilla)

He's talking about Francis Everett, the principle investigator for the experiment. It's taken us 100 years to develop technology and come up with a method to test Einstein's Theory of Relativity. It is a great day, but don't think that there will be parties in the streets. Most folks have no idea what old Einstein was talking about anyway.. and just assume he was probably right all along.

Everything Nightmare said is dead on. That is why I said you probably wouldn't see the difference in the gskill memory he mentioned and the model I mentioned. If you are building a purely gaming (or mostly gaming) rig.. the timing isn't as important as the Frequency. I had a little more money for my memory, and chose to get a little better 'edge' in timing with the CAS 6. If you would like to do some 'light' reading on memory, I would also suggest this article: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/55024-30-memory-please-read-posting It's simplistic but informative, and has some good links and suggested reads at the bottom too. The links I've given you, as you have seen, could keep you busy for a very long time. I hope you enjoy them and find them useful. Keep us posted on your build. BTW.. a lesson I learned the hard way.. if you ever expect to run in sLi mode or crossfire with 2 graphics cards.. if you can afford it.. go ahead and get a 1000watt powersupply. I lost money on a 750 that I had to return because I figured out after I ordered it that I needed minimum 950 to run 2 5800 series cards.

Here are also some links to Crosshair IV formula and AMD CPU 'fan' sites: http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherboards/682489-official-asus-crosshair-iv-formula-extreme.html http://forums.amd.com/forum/categories.cfm?catid=318&entercat=y http://www.overclock.net/amd-general/525113-phenom-ii-overclocking-guide.html I found some useful information on both of these sites. You can read for hours. BACK TO YOUR QUESTION... on OC board, there is a pretty cool (although a bit dated) article on memory selection. It is what started me digging a bit deeper for making the right choice on ram. Hope you find it useful, or at least interesting. http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherboards/682489-official-asus-crosshair-iv-formula-extreme-704.html#post12092773 Just remember, although the 'Qualified Vendor List' for your Mobo may or may not list a particular model of RAM.. it doesn't mean it won't work well with your Mobo.. it just means they didn't test that model with your mobo. My RAM isn't listed in the QVL, but it works beautifully. In fact, I've 'heard' that ASUS mobo's have had problems with Gskill memory.. but I've had nothing but good results from the several different models of Gskill RAM I've used in several different ASUS mobo's.

NightmareXI have a look at this one... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314 the ripjaws series is pretty fast....using it for almost a year now +1 That is good ram. I have the same CPU and Mobo that you are going to use, and that ram should do you great. I am running with a different set of G.skill, but I don't think you will see any difference. I just got mine because it was CAS 6 instead of CAS 9 (but the same amount (8 gigs) will cost you almost double what nightmare has suggested) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231351

It is no problem, Manu94. TS3 is open to anyone who plays on our servers. Welcome to the XI forums. Have fun!!!

Yeah, we can do this:

One of the cool things about all this is, while the world sounds off with opinion about whether the US was 'legal' in doing what they did... and blast every possible angle on what we could have done different... Osama is fish food. I could give 2 shits what any other country thinks.. the bastard is dead, it's a good day.

I know several of you ACE mod regulars have notice that I haven't been around much lately. My crappy DSL connection has gotten even worse over the last month, and I'm down to less than half of the connectivity and speed I once had. ATT has promised to fix it, but it remains to be seen. I cannot really game much with my current connection, so until I get it sorted out I will not be playing all that much. I will keep up on the forums, and if ya see me on xfire I can still help with issues in the server.. but I gotta get my connection sorted to get back in game.

TedsofBeverlyHills LOL.. that is just SO wrong!!! Congrats Bart, you big mouthed whore!!!

Everyone has an opinion.. like buttholes.. everyone's got one... yadda yadda yadda Years ago, I did the free stuff. I had to use like 3 or 4 things and keep them all updated and such... BUT, I am LAZY and that was too much work. SO, I started looking for a suite that would be a no-brainer. One I wouldn't have to touch. I tried several.. Norton (may be good now, but used to be a resource HOG); McAfee.. I hated it; and a couple others. THEN, I found a 6 month free trial of F-Secure. The company is in Finland, but their product is ROCK SOLID. They have several sets, like just antivirus.. but I prefer the Internet Security Suite, which includes anti-virus and spyware/adware/malware block stuff. It includes parental controls and scheduling etc. I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER had one virus or crapware get on my computers in 5 years since converting to F-Secure. I don't have to do ANYTHING but pay about $40 a year and the package includes Key for up to 3 computers. Once you make all your intial selections as to how you want to handle how your programs and the internet interact with the software..it is totally hands off. I never have resource trouble with it. HELL.. do you get the point???? I love this software. If you are like me, and you don't want to bother with dicking around with security software.. spend the 40 bucks a year and never THINK about it again. ..IN FACT, you can usually find promo and beta codes and get 'extended' time between buying the software. Before the last time I bought the software (which was February) I had been about 15 months beyond the last 1 year subscription without paying a dime. I kept up with free betas and special offers by searching the internet. You don't have to do this, but it does lower your overall yearly cost if you do it from time to time. For your viewing pleasure. I am sure you can qualify for a free trial to check it out. http://www.f-secure.com/en_US/

Part 4 of some styles of playing COD4
Bama replied to BigPapaDean's topic in Call of Duty 4's Call Of Duty 4 Discussion
Goinbigger Damage_inc- I CANT WAIT FOR PART 5 LOL. I'm not a member and excuse me if I am overstepping but Dean you honestly didn't think your ranting about how your style is the end all greatest style ever and every other style was crap was going to strike a few nerves? I'm a total newb, haven't played FPS games in years, and found your great servers here and have been having a blast. I haven't been on each map long enough to really find all the best spots that work for me, or really a style that works for me for that matter. And I can see every style that you mentioned from the first few games I played. If you were writing a strategy guide for someone that had never played the game, it may be helpful, but the second they read how critical you were about how people play they would stop reading. I think what these guys are saying is that if these different styles of players are pissing you off that much you may want to take a look and see how much fun are you really having? Is this affecting your life more than it should? I was watching an interview not long ago that in a nutshell said that military personnel coming back from overseas were asked what they did in their free time while overseas. Playing video games 2-3 hours a day came in second for those people that did not later have serious mental issues. First being working out 8 hours a day! The ratio of people that played over 3 hours a day the rate started climbing significantly. All the way up to about 6 hours a day where it flatlined. How they can say that playing the games actually caused that effect and not that those people that had serious mental issues would just naturally do those activities is beyond me, but you get my point. It may be affecting your life in a not so good way anymore. I play to take my mind off of work, kids screaming and the general grind of life for a while. There are days I could sit and play for 16 hours if I didn't have anything else to do, but it would not be very good for my life (mainly becasue my wife would kill me, jk of course but she wouldn't be too happy about it.) But once it either becomes a distraction or it starts to consume your life or starts to affect your life in a negative way you might want to take a break for a while. And being really upset about how someone else plays (beyond cheating of course) might be a sign. My favorite post so far, in this thread!!!! -
Glad you just have a great story and able to take pics. Not that much damage either..+++

Idiots in weather-stricken South please check in...
Bama replied to HarryWeezer's topic in General Discussion
Thought we here in South Carolina (just across the border from Augusta, Ga) were gonna get thrashed, but we just got LOTS of lightning and high winds/rain. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the folks in Alabama and Georgia, who got really tore up by the tornados. -
LOL.. wowza.. that was a LOT of info, but exactly the kinda stuff I wuz looking for. I'm not on air anymore (well.. kinda hybrid I guess), the H70 is installed and running great. I will watch the temps of course, but feel much better about pushing the CPU now that I have some high performance CPU cooling. One issue I'm seeing is my NB temps. I suppose I need to pull the stock heatsink and look at the thermalpad contact. It's a new mobo version (not the version with the heatsink post length problems) but my NB temps are an average of 10 deg warmer than SB and CPU temps. This could be an issue with OC on the NB settings (its 47 deg at idle). Of course, if I convert to total liquid cooled, I can put a pad on the NB and be in good shape.. but that is money I can't (won't) spend right now. I may try looking at a NB air cooler of some sort. I tried looking at your link to your rig yesterday, but it was down. It works today.. I didn't realize my build was so similar. Yours is much nicer. I don't take advantage of the eyeinfinity stuff I have, I only have one big LCD. I'm on nights until Tuesday, so I may not get a shot at doing much until then (I only eat/sleep/work when I'm 'on the clock'). I will tweak with the advice you've given and post some results as I do. Thanks for the info.

Nobody.. looks like MSI has a bios update on your MOBO for the AM3 1090T... but I don't see one for the 1100T. Maybe you will get lucky and it will work, but don't bank on it. Here is a link to that page (you probably have it already, but here goes) http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K9A2-Platinum.html#/?div=Download According to everything I can find to read on it, AM2 boards can be compatible with some AM3 chips.. when the board manufacturer supplies a bios update. Like Dread said, the 6 cores aren't supported without it. Good Luck!!! I bought the same exact processor you just ordered. I run it on a ASUS Crosshair Formula IV board. I love it.

bump.. Mofo or Dread chime in
