  1. My buddy, yesterday, reminding me it's time to do something besides sit at the computer... preferably petting him.
  2. ...Get off the computer, already...
  3. ...still miss him.

  5. Here we have Sponge Blob, the fluffy cousin.
  6. That appears to be a local file on your machine, buddy.
  7. The Federal Reserve is beholden to the rules set forth by The Federal Reserve Act over 100 years ago. The Federal Reserve is accountable to Congress & Us; they are audited at least twice a year, & the report is made publicly available. https://www.federalreserve.gov/aboutthefed/files/combinedfinstmt2018.pdf
  8. So; has anybody gone up... with the prevalence of these alleged chemtrails.....I mean, they're practically ubiquitous.... surely SOMEBODY has gone up and collected samples in a verifiable manner to prove the composition of these nefarious products? Anybody? Bueller?
  9. Well, if you want to throw ~$2,000 @ it, here's the rig, sans the peripherals: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aws/cart/add.html?creativeASIN=B07MGBZWDZ&linkCode=w61&imprToken=yYEdi8SmlFz4F2M1q2lVKQ&slotNum=9&AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJOASTQRBLOVVPUQA&AssociateTag=wepcus-20&ASIN.1=B07MGBZWDZ&Quantity.1=1&ASIN.2=B07BYP9S95&Quantity.2=1&ASIN.3=B07WQG7S5S&Quantity.3=1&ASIN.4=B07RM39V5F&Quantity.4=1&ASIN.5=B078DPCY3T&Quantity.5=1&ASIN.6=B079HGN5QS&Quantity.6=1&ASIN.7=B07HM3M86B&Quantity.7=1&ASIN.8=B07JFVLT7G&Quantity.8=1

  11. Here's a solid build for 1080p gaming; only thing missing is the tower & psu. If you want to do higher resolution gaming, you can always buy a better graphics card. For $60 more, you can double the ram from 16 to 32 gigs. This is an AMD build... if you want to go Intel route, the i5 9600k is a great value, but they run hotter & require a cooler which will run you an extra ~$30. The amd chip comes with a cpu cooler. Water cooling is also relatively inexpensive, starting around $75. https://www.userbenchmark.com/PCBuilder/Custom/S151675-M810675.631838.517228.161079.89269vsS0-M?tab=MBD
  12. Not true; quite the opposite in reality. Compare the Q4 2018 production Core i5 9600k with the Q3 2019 Ryzen 5 3600 & you will see that the AMD Ryzen 5 @ 65 watts runs 30 less than the i5 @ 95. I compare these two because they are close in gaming performance. People will say that because the AMD's memory control is slower, one takes a ~10% hit in frames per second. In practice, this only happens if the graphics are turned all the way up & the GPU becomes the bottleneck. In addition to running 30 watts cooler & being neck & neck in gaming, the AMD chip has twice as many threads & easily outperforms Intel chips at the same price point in workstation & multitasking. I'm a fan of neither; I'm a fan of best value. With the new AMD architecture, it clearly is the best value. Here's a side by side comparison of the two chips: https://www.userbenchmark.com/PCBuilder/Custom/S151675-M810675.631838.517228.161079.89269vsS0-M?tab=MBD
  13. List a budget range, buddy. Prices will be changing over the next month or two. So a time frame would also be great. No sense in buying certain components when they will be dropping over the next couple months. Which platform you want - AMD or Intel - is also a decision you need to make. Whether you want a rig for gaming solely, gaming & other pc tasks is another consideration.
  14. That is so beautiful. That is another passtime of mine, although it's been a while. Need to chat with you sometime, buddy.
  15. Shit, most people that play MW2 don't even get on ts; but yeah, like Rugger said, weekends is usually busy late into night.
  16. Gonna miss you; glad you got to celebrate one more anniversary before you left.
  17. Nice bike. To answer your question: I like chess; been playing for 35+ years, & it's satisfying to build a repertoire over time & enjoy the game @ all time controls. My favorite opening as white is the English. The Sicilian, French, & Nimzo-Indian as Black. Outdoor activities are also at the top of my list. Hiking, fishing, hunting, target shooting. There are some lakes & surrounding countryside I've frequented since I was 7 or so years old; I know the area like the back of my hand & feel at home there in my quietude. Rolling hills, flat-top ridges, narrow valleys & slopes populated with hardwood trees & their denizens. Online gaming, of course, is another passion of mine. Been playing video games since 1978 & make a point of exploring any new custom map across which I come in Cod4. Know most of the more popular maps very well. Was into map making for a few years ago in the heyday of Cod4 mapping & modding. Reading is another favorite passtime of mine. Western Civilization from Hammurabi to the Greeks through Medieveal time up to the present; a rich & entertaining narrative to explore. Fiction would be Stephen King, Tolkien, Harold Robbins, Dean Koontz, etc. Jiddu Krishnamurti, Thomas Merton, & Gary Zukav would top my philosophy/spiritual list. I also collect jade from around the world; some jadeite, mostly nephrite jade. Anywhere continental plates come together, there's jade to be found. California, South America, New Zealand, Canada, Russia, to name a few places from which I've collected. I plan on working some my pieces when I get around to setting up a shop & procuring the necessary equipment. Heirloom tomatoes is another favorite of mine. I've collected about 75 varieties to-date & grow 10 or so each year for harvest, & a few plants from my collection on a rotating basis to refresh any aging seeds. Cherokee Purple, Black Krim, Kellogg's Breakfast, Brandywine Sudduth Strain, Aunt Rubies German Green are the ones I grow every season as they are fantastic. Custom paperweights & numistmatics are also occasional hobbies of mine. Guess that's more than enough for now.

    Hello!!

Hello & welcome to the forums.
  19. It is a nice card & about all you need for 1080 gaming. Unless one plays at higher resolutions, there's no need to look any further.
  20. Oh wow! This is such sad news. Dadda was a great guy. Can't believe I'm never going to get to hang out with him, joke & hear his laughter. It made me feel better knowing there was people like Dadda in this world & that I knew him, however briefly. Whenever I thought of him, it brought a smile to my face. In the future it will also, but now with sadness also. I'm so sorry Sandra. I instantly liked the man the first time I talked to him. It was an honor to have known him & his kind benevolence. Be well, wherever you are, my friend. =(
  21. Good value & great for 1080 gaming. 8 gigs of ram, too. ?
  22. Keep it for yourself! =D
  23. Love Prince's guitar work on this track... & the breakdown & buildup in the last 1/2. So many people sleep on his guitar opus.
