Hi everyone. Posting a demo vid for a different gametype that in the future I can upload to the new ow2 server. Its called Battle Royale. An earlier test version of the game was on another XI server several months ago but it has gone through a lot of changes and is much more stable.
It is an 'elimination' game with no respawn. All players start with an empty pistol and a knife. No primary, explosives or perks. During the game at random intervals helicopters will drop various kinds of care packages that will contain a random primary weapon, attachment, perk, explosive, primary/secondary ammo resupply or body armor. Any player can take it. Other than type, as shown by head icons, the exact contents of the package are unknown. If you have a primary, and take another, the older primary is lost. If that primary has an attachment it is also lost. Same with taking a new attachment. The current attachment is lost. Players can have up to three perks. If a fourth is taken the oldest of the three is removed. Players can only have one explosive at a time.
There is also a single elimination server timer that applies to all players. If no player in the game makes any kill before the timer expires (60 seconds in the demo) a random player explodes and the timer resets. So it would be best to search for and destroy your enemy. In the unlikely event that the match timer runs out before all players are eliminated all remaining players explode and there is no winner. There are also rotating minefields that appear and disappear at random intervals.
Since for this gametype to work it will require me to waypoint all maps in the rotation with sever side mod scripts it will depend on how much interest there is. At first the rotation will have 8-10 maps, mostly stock. And before anyone asks... no streaks.
edit: In the vid, the player has 10 rounds in the sidearm on spawn but that is for testing only.
