For the people that have upgraded to the new Firefox 4.0, have you noticed how much memory it uses?  My Hard Drive was spinning and making a lot of noise like I had a bunch of programs open and I was crunching numbers, but all I had open was Firefox and I was only on the XI website (sorry, not DL'ing porn at the time).  Oh - and also, on my Quad Core PC, the #4 core was running at 80%. I wanted to make sure that some Trojan or virus wasn't running in the background.

Anyway, I opened the Task Manager and Firefox was running at 176,000 K.  Not a big deal since I have 5 GB of RAM, but I thought that was kind of high for what I was doing and wanted to see what Internet Explorer would use for the same thing.  I shut Firefox and opened IE.  Task Manager showed IE only using 47,000 K of memory.  I reopened Firefox again and it did the same thing and went up to 301,000 K of memory.  IE was still holding steady at 47,000 K.  WTF?  I do not recall Firefox being that resource intensive.

Anyone else experience this or know what might be going on ??

Yep, you have discovered the problem with Firefox. I have this page, a live stream of a Quake Live competition and an IRC chat running, and firefox is using 208k. Seen it as high as 410+

But I don't care 'cause it has awesome skins :D

EDIT: Interesting fact, I maxed my crappy CPU watching 720p video on Youtube. LOL

I see more plug-in containers on this version of FF, but that's about it.  It starts up faster, especially on my netbook with 2Gb RAM.  It just depends on if you are using a theme and what extensions or plugins you have enabled.  In their past updates, it was a bit slow at first until they updated the extensions as well.  For me, it still beats the hell out of Internet Exploder.

Cavey, I like Chrome too, but it has issues with the XI site.  You cannot post pictures or attachments if you are in Chrome Undecided

Labob scares me..good thing Canadas a big place..

I can't cut and paste with FF4. Is this something new? Don't seem to have any other problems with it though, just don't like having to find IE and use it when I'm feeling lazy.
