I cannot make a donation because Paypal says I need to get "Verified" because I have reached my $10,000.00 limit on previous transactions.

Apparently you are limited to using a total of 10,00.00 in transaction before you are required to get verified.

To get verified they want my bank account numbers....... sorryI am not giving them to Paypal.

The other option is to sign up for Paypal's Mastercard, I am not doing that either. I have more credit cards than I need already.

Suggestions?

Because I sell stuff on Ebay I had to get verified and to make getting your money easier I had to get their debit card. It all works out. Damn $10,000 limit, that is quite a bit. You must of bought a lot of stuff. I got a bridge I could sell you.

Thanks for your support Shamu. You are a great friend.

I suppose but I do not like giving my bank account info to Paypal. I have already received in the past, and confirmed with Paypal, bogus solicitations for information. Looked very realistic but fortunately I did not trust it. Even investment houses do not solicit that information. I would expect they are indirectly seeking your permission to dip into your account if the credit card does not work for one reason or another. I am not giving anyone permission to tap my accounts. Do that and you are a hacker step closer to being scammed out of money. Lots of places say they are "Secure" until shit happens.

As for credit cards I already have three which is one too many. No annual fees and points that I do use. I do not really want a fourth card.

I have not totally ruled out the credit card but just do not like the idea. What are the annual fees, what is the credit interest rate, what is the spending limit, what are the perks....... some Paypal points???? How good is the Paypal card in monitoring activity and notifying you of questionable charges and compensating you for erroneous charges?

Hiya Shamu,

Over the big pond here in the UK we have to register and verify paypal much earlier than $10,000, we have a limit of £500.

Very low. I verified with them sometime ago with my bank details and have never had a problem.

Also if you sell on Ebay and want to transfer funds to your Bank it makes the process a whole lot easier.

Cheers Mate

Cya soon

Why not PM Rugger and he can advise when he gets back.  I'm sure he wouldn't refuse a postal donation and may even remember not to put the bills into the coffee jar he has for saving for wild parties. Wink

Mazdarati

Just some other members referencing ebay, I have never bought anything on ebay.

Paypal is often accepted by persons, like myself, who hold a C & R (Curio and Relic) license that allows them to buy guns generally over 50  years old. There are a few sites that specialize in sales of guns over the Internet.

With C&R type transactions the gun can be shipped directly to you.

BTW..... I have just let my C & R license expire as part of my new austerity program. No license, no temptation.

Below are just a very few:

The more I think about this Verified crap the more pissed off I get.

I have used Paypal for $10,000.00 worth of transactions with never a bad payment or default. And now they want me to get Verified? How much more Verified do I need to get other than being a good past customer with an excellent credit rating?

Verified?? What a joke. $10,000.00 worth business and I am not Verified? Give me a break. Don't play with words just come out and tell me you want to make additional profits from my use of Paypal. Their spiel is almost disgusting and bogus in the manner it is presented. After thinking about this and it being an insight into their business acumen I guarantee they will never see my bank account information because I have lost trust in them.

There is some self serving motive in telling me that I need to be Verified to use Paypal for more transactions. I suspect they hope I will take their credit card rather than divulge my personal information on my bank accounts. Paypal is looking to garnish additional profits by binding you to their credit card. Apparently the percentage they make on transactions is not enough. This is sort of like bait and switch, sucker you in with their system then, when they have you on the hook, push you into another Paypal profit center.

I think Paypal and I are finished,it's a convenience I do not need or trust any longer.
