Ran this 3dbenchmark11 and got these results... I am only averaging 20 FPS a sec on BF3... Lots of times below that... I just put in Brand New GTX 550Ti card... I thought all the freezeups and people popping up and just bad lag bs was because of my old 8800 gts 512 card... But I am still getting the same shit with this new one... What advice can you all give me to improve my FPS in BF3...  I have tried settings on high, med, low, custom, ultra.. Get same results...

Just an idea, but once I has to change my motherboard for a defective slot.... Check your bios setup too to see if you activated the right settings for your card

didnt think i had to deinstall the driver as it was still an Nvidia card going in and using the same driver...  The software that came with the card was actually older driver then the one needed to play bf3... still went to nvidia website and installled the current driver as BF3 would not let me play with the software provided by the card....

I always do a fresh install with new hardware

even if its still nvidia there might be a few settings or driver parts that wont work with the new card....

always go to the nvidia homepage and dl the newest drivers because the software that comes with the card is outdated most of the time LOL

what cpu do you have ?

with 2.4 Ghz is might be the bottleneck of your sys but for sure it should work a lot better like your old card

I had a look at a couple of benches with the 550ti

in 3dmark11 the average scores are at 2500 points(performance bench)

these results are made with a much faster cpu like yours so I think your score is okay

a few BF3 benches I have seen the average fpss are around 20 to 30 with a 550ti

which resolution do you play ?

The gtx550ti is about 4% slower than a gtx260.It's also a completely different architecture,(fermi),than your old card.Fermi does not work to well with dual cores. As far as the comparison between games, one may be more cpu or gpu dependent than the other. If you have done a clean driver install with no improvement,I'd say you need a cpu upgrade.

Im with Gump, I have the Same exact Card, except with a 2.4ghz quad core processor, and in win 7 64bit performance index, my processor gets the lowest score. And I get 30-80fps on Bf3 on a 720p TV monitor    If your on 1080p tv that may be the problem .

But keep pluggin away, read old forums here, if you dont get the help you need PM me.

Settings: anti aliasin....4mmssaa      Ambient....ssad terrain ultra or high   mesh same as ambient effects    same     motion blur off antiscopic16x  others settings high   Your average FPS needs to be 40FPs    raw mouse on   v sync  on if over 60 fps

in game   tilde key type render.drawfps 1      tilde  render.perfoverlayvisible 1   turn up FAN on CARD to 75% while gaming!

motherboard bios...disable hyperthreading.c1e state and one more power saver..brings your cpu out of idle..who needs it?,i shut my own comp off when i don't want to waste power.did you have ambient occlusion enabled and v sync?,it could be a few things giving you the lower fps.but i suspect the culprit is your cpu..quite a graphically demanding game

Save up for a new motherboard and CPU 2Cute.  I run BF3 at 4.8ghz, double yours.  Remember COD was designed for consoles, which don't have much processing power.  64 players on a destructible map with air power going at it, tanks and LAVs blowing buildings to the ground, snipers on cranes with SoFlams, and everyone has a specific camo, weapons, and what not.  Processing power is a must.  A 2.4 dual core and graphics card with 512 memory meet the MINIMUM system requirements to run BF3.  You may not have problems on a 16 player squad deathmatch/rush server.

Time to upgrade man! Laughing
