ATX Motherboard 2. Motherboard must have a battery on it, NOT a capacitor Procedure: 1. Remove power cord from the back of the machine. 2. Open case and remove the battery. 3. Push the power button once to drain power from motherboard 4. Put the battery back in the motherboard 5. Close case 6. Plug power cord back in 7.
