Its not the freaking video games.  Its parents who dont pay attention to their kids and they go off and find trouble.  And lastly, what they see done at home?!

Cobra we Gamers are going to be hard pressed to prove that Video Games are not violent and affect the way we think. We have Angel, HXTR, Bogleg, Google and Blk Plague just to name a few killers with brain damage.

Gun violence in schools is nothing new. Until the early part of the 20th century it was very common for kids to carry guns while at school, which occasionally went off accidentaly or resulted in death during a fight.

The worst mass school killing in US history was in 1927 where a guy killed his family, and blew up a school with high explosives killing 45 total.

Take a few minutes to read over the below link. There were more school shootings long before video games were ever around.

My parents graduated from Bath High School  and I attended school there until the fourth grade...You could see where the school was repaired from the bomb blast as the brick wasn't as weathered as the original remaining brick was...When I went there the high school kids would keep their shotguns in their lockers so they could go hunting directly from school...That was in the 1950's...Things are a little different now... :) :)

Yea, video games are the last to blame.  Its how they are raised, the environment and what they find just to stay out of their parents problems.  I see this alot.  Parents just pass their kid off or give them whatever they want to keep them out of their "hair" so to speak as we say in the south.

I know every move my kid makes and where she is and who she is with at all times.  She is spoiled but she gets these things in time cycles.  If your gonna have kids then take the time to raise them right!

Kids have had real and toy guns for generation after generation. How many of us pretended to shoot our friends when we were little?  We've had video games for what, 30 years?

People are always looking for something/someone to blame.  In this country, we want to come up with excuses and diagnoses instead of taking responsibility for our own actions.  We had a break down in the family many years ago so there are more divorces.  Parents don't discipline the way they used to and would rather be their child's friend than their parent. Parents often pit the child against the other parent.  We took prayer out of schools and brought in "political correctness.  We now teach them whatever they feel like doing is perfectly okay.  We've raised a generation that thinks they are entitled to everything and there are few consequences for bad behavior.  We threw our morals and convictions away and now moral, ethical, law-abiding people are now considered scum.

We need to quit treating marriage as disposable.  Quit buying the kids everything they want and slap their behinds when they misbehave. Teach morals and encourage hard work and education.  Nothing is free.

I couldnt agree with you more BB.   I was raised the "old way" and well I am raising my child the same way.  And if it comes to discipline, not only does she loose things or whatever needs to be done but I also make sure she understands what shes in trouble for...I've done that since she was little.

Let's see. I got my first BB gun at 5. Killed my first animal at 5. Caught rabbits, snakes, and other critters with homemade traps until I was 13. Have killed dozens of animals since ranging from dish to elk. I have owned some kind of gun since I was 5 and started playing video games in 1979. I grew up in the Cold War era where I thought any given day was the day the nukes would go off. And yet I have never gone on a shooting spree. I must be a friggin miracle.

Guns make killing more people more quickly possible for the insane and psychopathic. But without them we would just have more Jack the Rippers. Video games are probably less to blame than the 24 hour news cycle and mainstream TV, both of which devalue human life and glorify terror way more than our shoot-em-ups.

And Noears don't go to the post office near me anytime soon!
