I'm in the process of building a new computer but i don't know too much about it and need a few advices Embarassed

Here's what i'm thinking about

-Mother board : Gigabyte p55a ud4

-processor      :intel core i5-750 socket 1156

-memory        :4096mo DDR3pc12800 Dual-Channel

-power            : Corsair 750W

-graphic cards : HD5870x2 crossfire

-Screen          : Iiyama 27'

Questions are :

-There's more powerfull processors but is it really necessary ?

- 2 HD5870 is it not too much ? or only one is enough ?

- Memory : enough ? not enough ?

Of course the main use of this computer will be Gaming but you already know that Wink

Thank you in advance for any good advice you may have .

Nothing to add really.. I love Gigabyte's motherboards and that one came out great in tests.

Memory.. well.. I have 8Gb now at 1066 Mhz at Vista64 and I love it (more).

Two 5xxx will be nice but know it aint much higher.

For example my old hd3870 in CF was with one crd 12.000 points in 3dmark06 and two 15.000 points.

Its better to get one 5990's or 5970's to be honest.

Cheers!

Thank you all for the advices . I'm not too bad at using computers at work or for playing but when it comes to build one i'm lost !

I'll stick to a single card certainly a HD5970 .

Thanks again .

Just a thought...I didn't see anything about hard drive or OS

I built a system for work with 3 15,000 RPM 300 GB SAS hardrives with an add on PciE controler card...and it is holy shit fast.

Not that you would want to spend that kinda coin.400.00 for the controler and 300.00 each for the drives.

But what speed!!!! also had 2 quad core i7 processors and 24GB 1333 memory

solid state drives seem to be the way to go now but expensive. Also corsair makes a 1000 watt power supply. It has always been my experiance that the power supply is the backbone for your computer. I go all out on that as I have a 1,300 watt in mine.
