I'm not signing that petition!  The teacher clearly didn't wish to be hugged by him made obvious by pushing him away.   I think a one year suspension is ridiculous, but I'd favor a three day suspension.  I'm willing to bet he has been warned about this many a time.

When I was in high school some kids did everything they could to annoy the teacher... I believe this May be one of those situations.... Could be wrong... 1 year is a bit harsh 1-5 would of gotten the message through.

I would say that the term, sexual harassment is much broader term today in our society, than it was two weeks ago. A lighter term, not something to frown upon like you did last month. Lets not forget the kindergartner kid last week that was disciplined for Sexual Harassment. We all as parents need to diversify our understanding and apply ourselves in a much more loving broader way. I guess the new term we all should adopt is, sexual predator. I like it! You get a resume with say, I have to tell you this, I'm a known sexual predator. In this situation, works for me. I would clearly know what course of action to take.

Imagine how many times my daughter would have been expelled for hugging. You couldn't get her to stop if you tried!

Stupid gets to have their day, stay tuned! I'm not picking on the two, hugger/ huggie, student/ teacher, this is an administration thing. Sandbox people!

she said his lips touched her neck...  you can see his head bend inwards... he was trying to come on to her against her wishes... now that he is suspended he complains, but she clearly did not want, invite or accept his advances.  Hes in the wrong.  he can live with the concequences... i dont believe he was not warned before like he said.

This is so typical of huggers. They think everyone wants a hug. I blame Sesame Street!

Punishment may be harsh but he was wrong.

One year is too harsh. Students probably get less time if they get caught with a joint.
