I have been working on an xmas pressie for my dad and it's included going through his bikes histories and also getting a photo collection sorted. Just thought I would post here for anyone interested.

The main bikes of his I focused on were these (there are others just in bits):

Norton Dominator 1956 (Jenny)
Registration: 11/05/1956
Purchased: 28/10/1977

Norton Commando MKIII 1977
Registration: 16/03/1984
Purchased: 25/05/2006

Norton Commando MKIIA 1975
Registration: 04/02/1975
Purchased: 14/06/2003

Norton Commander
Registration: 09/08/1989
Purchased: 08/03/2011

Aprilla
Registration: 09/04/2001
Purchased: 02/08/2013

and here are a few of the pictures from the collection (isn't my dad a handsome fellow?):

Now there is some real beautifull bikes duc.....your Dad looks about thirty five years old....that would make you ten...lol....nothing beats the cllassics....used to have a Triumph tiger eons ago...wrecked it in the city ...some moron cut me off at an intersection....and i slid under the front bumper of a fifth wheeler...basically bent the frame in half....a sad day for me indeed...loved that bike...but yeah duc ....nothing beats the classics....so retro and cool.,,,,wish i still had one...maybe i might get one this summer..and go riding with T-rat when he comes up to visit ......if he dares to venture this way ..and hang with Johnny...it would be the experience of his life....lmao...maybe take him a week to get sober again...

Me, younger years. Riding a 1976 R90/6. Have to dig out my older pix and scan them. Had a shite-load of Bonnies, BSA 441's, Rocket 3s, Tridents, and one Norton Commando MKIII. The Commando was the fastest Brit bike I owned, it had enough power to draw police attention. Still remember fondly rebuilding Amal carbs & setting valves & points. Back 30 years or so, you could pick up pushrod bikes for little money. Now, sheesh, they're all "classics" and draw high dollars. Glad I had the chance to just enjoy them while they were around.
