Pic down our driveway this morning. Got Lori to work, I'm going in this afternoon, but have to plow out the neighbors yet.......

My trusty shovel, rebuilt this 51' 8n as a pet, but it's seen some rough duty lately.

Family from Palm Desert landed in Midway last night, drove out here & are staying overnight...what a treat for them. Hope this makes them appreciate California a little more. Keep warm everyone, I'm lighting the fireplace and thawing out.

Your trusty Ford will probably be around doing that kind of work long after we're all gone. Those things are great and will run forever. I've driven many just like it over the years and they always get the job done.

Great pics Beer.

Bitch as I may about winters and snow here, at least we'll have LOTS of water and little threat of our homes burning up this summer (not to mention earthquakes)!

Earthquakes and drought are just part of life out here. I grew up in the Midwest and will take California weather over 6 months of freezing cold and 6 months of heat/humidity any day. Now if I could just get all of the fucking liberals to move out of here it would be a paradise.

FYI, The third largest group of earthquakes (1811-1812) in US history was in Arkansas and felt over 1 million square miles. We usually just get a bunch of little shakers out here to relieve the pressure on the fault lines. I've lived here almost 40 years and have yet to feel one that does more than rattle the pictures on the wall, even though I'm prepared for the big one that can come at any time. Plus after an earthquake you have a house that is messed up but in most cases still livable, unlike what happens to a house after a tornado or huricane.

No offence to the Northern States they all do this in one form or another but being a truck driver I can say there are 2 and only 2 cities I've seen that are amazing at this snow removal. Ottawa and Montreal I think they acually bag dog poo really awsome to watch them work.

Yea yea yea nice tractor but in canada we place the plow up front for snow. And so everybody knows I have my first snow day in decades. HWY Closed and they sent me home. $ hours to go 80 km there and back.

LCB  I feel your pain.  You and I live close to each other and I myself just finished snow blowing 3 driveways tonight.  It seems to snow about every 2 days this year and then after the snow it's below zero.  Have to say it was a big warm up today, it made it to 20 degrees above zero.   As you did I started the fire place and grabbed a well deserved beer.

Remember Laz, their reports are given in Celsius. We have been regularly -20C overnight and a couple of weeks ago we hit -27c. Cold & snow together no matter what scale you use. Luckily, we have the snow cover, or we would have a rash of broken pipes. I'll agree with Nick, when you said turtle head, it meant something entirely different to me.......

At least the flag is still flying.
