I'm on my second gas-can for my snow blower already. Last year I used maybe a half can. I've also worn my arctic-rated parka almost every day since late December. Last year I wore it 5-6 times. Another hobby of mine is meteorology, extreme weather being my focus. I'm 6 followers shy of 1000 on my regional extreme weather FaceBook page. I did a deep dig into the weather and climate models a few days ago and it looks like this unseasonably cold weather will keep much of eastern Canada and the US Midwest in its grip until at least March 20, just in time for Spring. Today is the first day of Meteorological Spring. I tell that to folks I know and get dirty looks. I even get nasty language thrown at me when I mention how long the cold will last... ...and I'm finally tired of it. My running program is on hold until we get temperatures consistently below -8°C (17.5°f). I spent a good part of the early afternoon today trying out new drivers at a local golf shop (I have my eye on a TaylorMade SLDR driver when my tax refund comes in). I can't wait for the local courses to open, but with frost down to 4.5 feet, it might not be until late May or early April before the local courses open. In 2012, we had temperatures of 26°C (79°F) in late March. Not this year!
 Awards
