When they finally got shallow enough there would be thousands of huge carp and catfish in a big mud puddle just waiting to die. We would go out in our shorts with aluminum baseball bats and put them out of their misery, then have piles of dead fish on the shore like 6 feet tall. None of them were worth eating, but some of the cats were over 50 pounds with mouths big enough for me to put my head in. Ah the good old days.
