i think my cpu has degraded ; ; the temp is hovering around 50C at 3.0 when it used to run lower at 3.2. it might be the fact that i have 2 screens but i have no clue why its affecting the temp so drastically any clues what i could do other than getting anew cpu would be appreiated

Hey...

What cpu do you have?

Are you using stock or aftermarket cpu cooler?

Is this temp (50c) at idle or at load?

and any other system info would help.

If you would like you can hit me up on xfire and go over some things. xfire = dytic

Later...dyic

Mine runs fine with overclocking but if that is the stock speed I'd rather suggest to redo the coolerpaste and a new CPU cooler isnt that much anymore. Besides that I run in my systray called "CoreTemp" (minimized)

after watching my computer closely i have noticed it is not my temp that is freezing my computer... my computer locks up and i have to restart it but prior to doing that the cursor turns into some long line that looks like a few cursors that have been put together and cut in half vertically

Here it is also made by CoolIt systems and you shouldnt have to mod anything same price

imageECO A.L.C.

Quick to Install Into Any Chassis - The extremely compact ECO A.L.C. comes pre-assembled making it easy to install into any chassis with a few simple steps. Unlike heavy air cooled solutions, the ECO exerts little weight on the motherboard keeping the solution well below the maximums specified by Intel and AMD.

thats what I found here...max temp of your cpu is 62 C

http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=509&f1=AMD+Phenom%E2%84%A2+II+X4&f2=&f3=&f4=512&f5=&f6=&f7=&f8=&f9=&f10=&f11=&f12=True&f13=

if your temps are under load its definitly okay

ya my temps on my cpu, ram and gpu are all fine but im still having the problem. i have 2 screens hooked up to my ati 4870 vid card i have 4 gb ddr2 patriot extreme ram and a amd 940. my computer has been locking up while i am watching a vid on one screen and playing ffxi or surfing the internet on the other screen. this just started up about a week ago and i have been using 2 screens for a couple of months. my temps never get above 75% (at least 10-15 degrees from max). what has been happening a while is 2 problems that may or may not be related. i have the most recent drivers and everything updated. what happens is my cursor occasionally turns in to some wierd line i have to move it around over the window control buttons. another problem is my computer will freeze up and for about 10 seconds it will make a wierd electronic buzzing/extremely fast sound loop. it will not unfreeze until i restart it. any solutions
