I already own a Gibson acoustic but as a life long Beatles fan, I have always wanted a Hofner Bass. Great but difficult bass to play. Way back in the day the band I played in the bass player had a Hofner. It looked old fashioned but sounded great. Most likely a Les Paul. Be sure if possible to try it out before buying a Les Paul.. They are very hit or miss with quality. Not ragging on Gibson, but Ive learned with the many Gibson purchases made over the years that quality varies. They are making guitars out of the wood the fbi took in the raids. The government gave the wood back and Gibson are making some very collectable guitars out of it. They are called the "Government Series". Great investment these guitars will be.
