My daughter emailed this to me and it's difficult to look at for anybody who has been through it.

It's a pictorial about a dogs last day on earth, and there is a video at the end.

That's an amazing story Steve and it does bring back some very sad memories.

Years ago, I came home with two twin puppies for my two young daughters. Eventually we discovered that one had kidney failure. We nursed her for years and we had good days and bad. Eventually the bad days out numbered the good til one day my wife and I had to take her in to our vet.

There wad not much we could do so they recommended we get our other dog and say our goodbyes. At the end our little Zoe left this earth on her own terms and we did not need to put her to sleep. She died in my wife's arms were it was meant to be.

That was a bad but it had its blessings.

Damn it  @@little_old_man that made my face leak!

A dog in my house just may as well be a human for the way its treated  . . .and in return . . . well . . . . .seeing my dog run laps around the yard when I come home . . . happy to see me , , bringing me her favorite toy to play tug of war with or sharing some ice cream and always ready to go fishing . . .truly mans best friend

Damn you Lom. This hits really close to home.

I watched that with my 13 year old sheltie sleeping beside me. He has a tumor on his head that will be removed next month. Hope it hasn't spread.

Thanks for sharing that link.

I don't get too worked up over buzzfeed links because they're no better or worse than any other web sites out there. By far the worst offenders are the search engines especially Google. They dump all kinds of cookies and malware on our PC's every day. I run anti-malware and anti-virus software that keep all of the crap at bay.

I know I couldn't go through it again. There will be a next time of course, but I'll have others step in for me.

Been there done that and it's never easy.

I read this I think on a Labrador site, author unknown:

" Every dog I have ever had the pleasure to own has GIVEN me a piece of there HEART.  Every time they have PASSED away they have TAKEN a piece of my HEART! Eventually my HEART will be all DOG!"

Now I will this tell this joke, but it is really a truth.

If I put my Wife and my dog in the trunk of my car for just 1 hour and on my return let them out. WHO IS HAPPY TO SEE ME?

That's animal cruelty. I would never put my dogs in my truck with my wife for an hour.

It is very hard to put a dog (or other pets down)  My family has had to put down 2 dogs and it just breaks your heart.  I know that In my heart that they had the best life that they could have with us on this earth.  One was a short haired pointer and the other a lab.  We now have another lab and she once again is a great part of our family.  I have and will not ever forget the times we have had with the dogs that we lost.  Just me saying.
