I have a windows 7 disk (the same one that I am currently running on my desktop), can I buy another key and load it onto my laptop??

A little more background....I bought a new laptop and it came with Win 8.1, I want to use this same laptop to run applications that are currently only approved for Win 7...my thoughts are to install a second SSD (124) with Win 7, load the applications on it and install it into my new laptop...from what I have read once my laptop sees 2 OS it will ask me which one to run...That would be perfect!

Thoughts???

you can put windows 7 on ur laptop too with the same key. It may ask you to re-activate Windows and change the product key by calling MS. If it does just tell them u need a new product key because you re-installed Windows. You'll be fine. I have done it before.
